ok, thanks to all those who replied to help me the other day about my 5 turbo problem... it was hesitating when turbo was spooling up etc... anyway, i changed the rotor arm, dizzy cap, and HT leads and its running like a dream again !! .. well pleased...

I disagree, Ive been out in them all and the only one which provides true "back in seat" g-force is the 172 cup. The rest are slow and their owners are just bitter and twisted that the cheapest is the fastest...

its a pity you cant find someone with a 172 who is prepared to swap parts with you to help you diagnose it without the expense of paying for new parts from renault....

If you want a more basic ride, but a bit of a more raw feel in the car go for the cup.. if you want gadgets and more comfort go for a normal 172... Reliability seems to be good on the 172s, you should be able to get a 10k milage cup for about £8000-8500 with about a year or more warranty left...
