I had replaced them but they weren't good quality and they perished, I may have over tightened the but squishing the bush too much. Too bad there's no poly urethane substitute for non sports [emoji20]
I'm running coilovers at the front so no issues with that as even before they were fitted the noise was still apparent. I've had it off the floor put just can't put enough force through to whatever makes the noise.
We could be in the same boat but don't wanna jump to conclusions although...
That's an accurate description of the noise aye! All this talk of wishbone is worrying me as all along I was thinking tie rods or some steering column joint.
Just don't wanna go buying 2 wishbones to then buy 2 inner tie rods then finally realise it's my column - I'd be fitting it all myself so...
I've had both ball joints and TRE replaced over time I've owned it.
Never thought it would be a wishbone, I can feel the clunk through the steering wheel.
Remember @AlexW saying it is a high possibility to be the tie rods because of the bearing/joint mine flap all over the show.
I've had this problem for a while, I just want to sort it now.
I can only think it'll be the inner tie rods or the uj on the steering column. Car is a 1.2 16V electric rack.
If I were to order inner tie rods there's the option of TRW (320mm) or SMI (296mm). There anywhere on the rack I can...
I'm running ET23 with 1.5° at the rear (172 rear beam) this required a little rolling of the inner arch lip - no flaring. Fronts get rather close running no arch liners as they get chewed up otherwise. Also I'm lowered 70mm ish @ Front 50mm @ Rear.
Cheers, I ended up ringing my local Renault as they didn't have them on the shelf he told me the measurements (M12 1.75) then I got one made up/off the shelf.
Another update, I changed my clutch for a valeo one as it was getting way too high and a little slip.
As you can see the friction plate was on its last legs. It's now so smooth when pressing the clutch pedal, also changed the gearbox oil while I was at it. Don't think there's much more wear...
Wondering if it's possible to DIY - drop subframe method.
I've done my cambelt etc and change a rear beam. Don't want to challenge myself too much and risk messing it up. Got Haynes and a decent amount of tools just no engine hoist.
Also by dropping the subframe is it possible to remove the...
Update has been a long time coming, jesus...
Over the year I've done:
- Cambelt + Tensioner + Waterpump + Aux & AC Belts
- Powdercoated Alloys + PE2 Tyres.
- Custom underseat subwoofer
- Repair rear wiper.
- New rear brakes.
- Paint/Fit Cup Spoiler.
- 'Refurb' Coilovers (Electrolysis at home...
Yeah all in my opinion, it's your car not mine haha. When I got my xenons I left the bulbs as they were, 9 months down the line we're still good. But then I didn't have big balls and get them posted.
Bang on, plus they might go further down once settled.
Much prefer the whiter light, the blue tint is normally prominent with plebs with reflectors. At least you've done it the correct/legal way [emoji106]
Rear could go down an inch after they've settled, front looks spot on.
Yeah you can have spacers for the rear with shims built in. They're put behind the drum not like a wheel spacer. Offset will be hard to measure it should have the ET value stamped on the alloys.
The offset is how far the wheel extends from the hub. The lower the further out the wheel sits. Only 1° shim with no spacers wide enough as it is. Very easy to fit if you have a half decent socket set E14 (female torx).
Naivety gets us at the most of times haha. What offset the wheels? I'm ET23 with an 172 rear beam (extra 20mm track) and I had to roll my arches plus an incy bit of camber helps!
Nice car, I'd colour code the side strips then run it to the ground and service it. Maybe a change in alloys but that my taste and it's your car [emoji4]
Mat.
Welcome pal,
I remember this being on eBay and needing work done as I was going to purchase it myself.
Does it still have damage to one of the rear quarters? Plans sound good too!
Think I still have the photos I robbed eBay somewhere swear it is the same car. Was going for about £1000 I think.
