Does the rattle diappear at certain revs?could be a dephaser with the rattle but wouldnt explain the lumpy idle

Ive done it on a 306 and it wasnt too bad,just took a while as I had a single garage only at my disposal

The rattle is a f*cked de-phaser pulley.get it sorted out mate or it could spell the end of your engine

Well time for a small update..... The cambelt has been changed by a mate and im glad i did have it done. Was still on the original belt and tensioners which had done 85k.my mate said i was lucky as one of the original tensioners had a massive crack almost through the middle off it and ready...

Im a big fan of grant mitchell does that count?
