Funnily enough, I agree with you about the lap times - a no-expense spared, well developed Clio with a good experienced driver, should be looking at low 52's all day long.
Joking aside, I think that Steve puts a set of regs together to satisfy the MSA. We all want to make the FT (or whatever it's going to be called) a success. We always work within the regs - and more to point In the spirit of them. Anyone who knows me, knows that they can ask me anything about my...
MINE ARE MEGANE ONES WITH A MODIFIED CLIO CUP WISHBONE SET UP - WHOOPS, that just slipped out - I am sure that the regs mean bespoke alloy ones - not like mine which are standard design but not off a Clio.
Ashley and Danny are driving the Clio at Outon this weekend, i'm just spannering for them. As long as they look after it I'll see you the week after! Although I would love to I'm not doing Donington because its the week before the Birkett so it would be tempting fate I think.

After the last episode there will be no early preparation for me - Friday before we set off for Cadwell it will be checked! Spent most weekends on the lorry - New brakes, New Shocks, Geometry Set, Exhaust welded up - the old girl takes more prep than the car nowadays (lorry not the bride)
We are already entered for the Birkett with the Dirty Half Dozen(we won it last year so got to defend the title!) I will do it next year in a Clio only set up, I have done the Birkett about twelve times, its a great day out
Hi Tony,
On a serious note I would be happy to help you with this, it is a great idea to introduce people who would not normally know how to start racing on to the grid. I'll give you a ring to discuss.
Colin Chapman, my hero said "Simplicate, then add lightness" and "Adding power makes you faster on the straights, while subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere." He was the greatest race car builder of his time.
