Great cars IMO a bit Boring but very very reliable.
Work at Hyundai for a few years before I went to Renault, I wouldn't be in business as a Hyundai specialist as next to nothing goes wrong with them.
Dont jump on the garage, if customer has requested cambelt kit only then so be it, I would refuse to do job without changing it personally.
Plenty of people say no to extra work because they are selling car on, I have had people refuse full accessory belt kits when I have strongly advised them...
72k is the big one, has every fluid changed, all filters & Plugs and a full cambelt kit and accessory belt kit.
Expect around £700 give or take a £100 or so
I expect it will be a faulty oxygen sensor causing the problem.
As to free emission tests, we carry out a full clip diagnostic test with every service.
Not just belt failure that causes this, the valves break off from the stem sometimes.
Was a tech note on Actis about this ages ago.
I hope my boat engine dont look like this when I take the head off it at the weekend as the belt jumped a few teeth eeek
Bargain!!
Non genuine kit I take it, nothing wrong with them at all.
Make sure he changes the Aux belt as well, you would be suprised at the amount of cambelt changes I have seen without the aux belt change.
