That's all you need iirc. That's all I did anyway. You should replace the crank pulley as it's one of them silly rubber jobs. Renault recommends changing it with the belts as they break up.
Some nice little touches there Alan.
The only thing that I'm wondering is why you'd need a blanket for the turbo? I'm sure it gets hot enough without it ;) lol.
Nice work Mark. This car has come a long way. Your attention to detail is something else. I can't make the Southend meet this weekend. But I'll do my best to make the next one. Or a long awaited Dungeness run is in order.
Funny enough my window regs have been fine for now. If your up for taking the door cards off you can prevent regulator failure anyway. From what I've read it's water getting into the connector block that fries them, apparently you can seal them up and shouldn't have any issues.
I wouldn't say...
A white one!? That'll be even harder to find surely lol. Just take your time and check it all over properly.
I love my car but I think I could of found a better one for the money. Still it's gradually coming together.
White does look good though.
Glad you enjoyed the read, unfortunately the photos are few and far between as when I get stuck into jobs I end up blasting through it and don't end up taking many photos.
Yeah it's all back together now. Managed to get a second hand turbo on 47k for 175.
I could of gone hybrid or even put a turbo off a 250 on as they hold the torque longer apparently. But I'm not willing to sacrifice anymore reliability (lol) by pushing it to the max. Stage one might come...
Well this weekend my turbo decided to let go!. Hit boost coming off a roundabout on Monday afternoon and I hear a slight bang and lost all power. Managed to limp it home with no boost and the car pissing blue smoke out the exhaust. Instantly assumed the turbo was blown and removal of boost pipes...
I got the 180 medium compound. I'm quiet surprised how well they grip in the wet tbh. Thought they might be a bit dicey in the wet but nope seem fine so far, better than the budgets that were on the car before lol.
Oh and I do a fair amount of miles, and I like to make quick progress shall we...
No, I got them from Cazan Racing, £115 a corner for the 235/40/18. That seems like a bargain price you got them for. They are really good tyres, they seem to be wearing down quiet quickly though lol.
Not a great deal to update, been a while since I've posted anything.
Bought some new rubber, was going to go for the Goodyear Eagle F1's as recommended by a few people, but after putting my order in to camskill, they emailed me saying they only had two in stock. So I cancelled my order and...
So there haven't been many updates recently and the car looked like a tip. Had about 3 inches of salt on it off the roads lol. So yesterday I set out to sort a few things out..
Investigate why the headlight washer jets didn't appear to be working. Upon removing the bumper the connector to the...
To be honest it's not that bad of a job. We changed one not long ago for the toyosport manifold. If your considering that you will need an updated dog bone mount as it knocks on the subframe.
It's the phase shifter pulley for the inlet camshaft. It's vvt you are correct, the pulley shouldn't have any play in it but they develop play in them which causes a rattling/diesel sounding noise when the engine is warm on idle belowe 1800 rpm.
Part costs about 70 quid I believe but you...
£50!? That's well worth it. I don't want it much louder whilst driving normally. I just want that jet sound on boost to be louder lol.
Who done your back box?
