yea i no what you mean mate but i was thinking if you undid the red ones there alot less fiddling and less is under stress a tension.

you can change them in situe but its a awful lot easier to take the two 17s out and leave handbrake gubbins in place.

all you need to do is unbolt the two 17mm bolts at the back and persuade the caliper off then once pads are out wind the piston back in

mines knocking to which is not normal ive look every where other than the mount under the battery so that must be it.

ok if you get some lengths of wood or similar and put these on the stands so that it spreads the weight this could also be done with the jack

jack it from the chassis rail otherwise known as the box section then put stands on sill is what i do on my road car

no your right if you use the "box section" or chassis rail its called :rasp: it wouldnt but when your half way through a qualifing sesion and you need to swap the wheels front to back as quick as you can you dnt want to be faffing around under car trying to find the rail.

yea we did use some sexy american aluminuim ones but when your jacking the car up bout 20 odd times in a weekend it still bends alot

OI! lol it makes it a whole lot easier if you changing wheels and spanner checking at race meetings or track days we used to do it the cars last year.

ive just welded some angle on the silld so that i can use them as jacking points on me race car!

im with them but at work all my paperworks at home

yea im gona have to chop the whole bottom out and make a spaceframe jobby to lower centre of gravity

pictures as requested could get any with the strut on cos the car is up in the air and i cnt reach that hihg to put it on lol

my nobbles lol (sounds naughty) they were from the same car i got the strut off but i cld of used some of any car cos once id gt them off i made my own bracket for the lower nobble out of some shelving lol

the only problem with that mite be if you do it electricly to release the catch there is always the chance of it failing and then a bit of a smash but then again we all know that the mechanical ones do this too

now thats just being greedy! hehe

ive used one from a mk 1 clio boot lid, only using one holds the bonnet up fine and will aid in the lifting off it if you used two it will prob lift the bonnet for you.
