I believe it's officially debris fencing, there is no such thing as car catch fencing in UK motorsport, the structure would need to be huge.
A fast moving tyre is the limit of the fencing generally used (the Quarry fence at Combe has absorbed a wheel/tyre moving at about 70mph), if it manages...
Horrific crash at Brands this weekend, apparently these two guys are always at each other. Those that know the circuit will appreciate just how fortunate it was that no spectators got caught up in this, the area the car landed is the main walkway around to the most popular vantage points...
I was right next to 3 blokes talking about the yellow R26, I did wonder if it was Cliosport people after. I think there were people on chairs to my right, not sure though.
Here's the pic anyhow Russ, not normally a keeper as it's a bit blurry, but you might still want it...
Original File...
I have some pics I think, will dig them out later.
Loved your Quarry 'moment', everyone thought you had saved it beautifully...then it was hello to the overtaking sign! Any damage from the cone etc?
The Westfield took out the other overtaking board one on the other side of Quarry exit...
All my shots are available at full-res from my site, select a pic on the left then hover over the bigger pic on tne right, you should then have the option to save the photo or open it at original size.
Always a strange mix at this Action Day, the Saab owners club had so many cars they had their own exclusive track sessions, Skoda pretty much filled a session on their own as well with vRS' and even a couple of Yetis.
A nice change from the usual trackdays full of Caterfields and Lotus, anyhow.
Here's the original size file, you should be able to save this directly to your computer. Came out pretty well at full-res, can read the dealership details on your numberplate...

Gorgeous day down at Combe today, driving standards didn't seem too bad for an Action Day either. Quite a few red flags (mainly due to mechanical failures) but not too much in the way of crashes...
Iggy Sport flying, first time I've seen one since buying mine nearly two years ago...
First...
Unusually hot and sunny at Castle Combe today for the Spring Action Day. It was pretty busy, something like 1500 cars on display, but of everything my cars of the day had to be the Skoda Yetis out in the track sessions, awesome.
A few Clios anyhow...
and one from the drift...
By the by, I see you're Wiltshire based, if you ever visit Castle Combe on a raceday/trackday etc you're welcome to try my Sigma 120-300 (I'm a D90 owner as well). Whilst it's over-budget it will give you a feel for a heavy lens, some people prefer a heavy lens for motorsport (it's inherently...
Willing to go second-hand? I've owned a Nikon 300mm f4 and 80-200 2.8 AFS before, both were just under £500 and were super impressive motorsport lens' (the 80-200 AFS is the best lens I've ever owned by far). It takes some effort to track down the right lens but in my opinion it's worth it, I've...
Will the number of households taking it up in a specific area reduce the overall speed for everyone? We live on the edge of a big cabled town, but they oddly never cabled our new 'village' when it was built (1200 mostly 'executive' homes), so I imagine the take up is going to be huge here. As we...
We're still waiting, scheduled for Dec 31st, then pushed back to March 31st, now currently June 30th! They've been working away laying pipe and sitting in front of the green boxes since November, no idea why it's taking so long.

Nothing illegal going on here, but still utterly wrong. I'm thinking this pre-owned business is getting a little out of hand. Plenty of staff coming out of the wood work suggesting that they are being...
The Sigma 120-300 at £99 is the best cost/performance/weight option in my opinion, it's fairly heavy but I can easily handhold it all day and I barely have any muscle to speak of!
Here are my efforts from Practice in 2009 http://chrisharrison.smugmug.com/Motorsport/British-Grand-Prix-2009/, but...
They've added chichanes at some of the really big jumps (due to some serious accidents in the past year or two I believe) but plenty of insane sections of road are still left. The speeds they were carrying through what is essentially a narrow single lane of tarmac were just incredible.
Cheers for all the comments guys, it really is an exceptional event. Great for spectators because you don't have to drive around chasing rally cars like at Sunseeker etc, I only had to move at lunchtime and even then I could have easily walked it.
Up at 5am this morning to head over the bridge into a very sunny Wales, my first time at Epynt and it didn't disappoint, incredible event. Best tenner I've spent in ages!

99% in-camera, all I do in Photoshop is maybe a slight crop and make sure the colour balance is ok. Things such as the blur in #5 are all done with different shutter speeds, it takes an awful lot of practice to nail the techniques.
Yep Quarry, he was getting faster and faster through there...
A quiet one compared to previous years when pretty much every colour combination of GT3 RS would show up, but warm sunshine and my first visit to Combe for a long long time more than made up for the lack of cars...

I'm wondering where you would even source tyres etc, must be an awful lot of work getting it all up and running. Plenty of old F1 cars in private hands running in EuroBoss etc, but I'm not aware of any this new actually out there racing.
Mental.
They are aiming for 105db to get it through Castle Combe noise regs. Honda kept the engine (and steering wheel) so they're dropping a 500bhp V8 in it's place. A few more details here...

Superb, that car will have been built in a factory about 2 minutes drive from my house, still see plenty around this area (West Wiltshire), they used to road-test them on the local lanes, amazing sound.
I've got the big Marcos book that Jem Marsh put together, will have a look and see if it...
That's the press car that the Bugatti test driver takes all over the place, the pics were taken two years apart, exactly the same car. It had a complete refresh after a very busy first year.
I've been fortunate enough to see/photograph about 15 of them so far, but by far the best experience was seeing them being driven in anger at Prescott Hill Climb, the noise is just unreal...
Sunseeker sponsor the event.
The new Formula 2 was surprisingly good/quick, despite a huge field of new Fiesta's it was a Renaultsport Twingo R2 that took the win, it sounded awesome.
