Absolutely, I had a 7.5mm 3.5, 14mm 2.5, 20mm 1.7, 45mm 1.8, 100-300mm and two bodies in my little Crumpler for the Britcar 24hr and it hardly felt like I was carrying anything.
The little 45mm 1.8 is incredible, impossibly small yet the image quality is stunning.
10 minutes on my 16mb connection, result. I love sim steering, especially as the car gets a bit of a wiggle on over high speed crests etc.
Rubbish track though, where are the corners?!
Yup, they were top people actually, very friendly and uber geeks. A few of us were chatting to Jason for a while and this chap comes along who decides to try and 'out-geek' the team regarding video games, PC tech etc, little did he know they really do know their stuff.
They had it running at the Britcar 24hr in the Toyota garage, very impressive. The sound is by far the biggest improvement that was immediately noticeable imo, much better.
I was very apprehensive about taking my M43 gear to Silverstone for the Britcar 24hr, I wondered if I should leave it at home and just enjoy the racing as I assumed it would give up in those sorts of conditions. I need not have worried though, it was amazing and having an Electronic Viewfinder...
I was very worried about that when I ordered, but it's fine. Cracking lens actually, nice and sharp as long as you appreciate just how long 600mm is and shoot accordingly.
Here's my new kit, just missing the Olympus 45mm 1.8 and 12mm f2 which should both be here soon hopefully...
Panasonic G3
Olympus E-PL2 (with a lovely Gordy wrist strap)
Panasonic 100-300mm f4-5.6
Panasonic 14mm f2.5
Panasonic 20mm f1.7
Samyang 7.5mm f3.5 Fisheye
Holga Ultimate 25mm f8 (+...
These are the only ones known so far iirc...
1980 Renault 5 Turbo (D 284)
2009 Renaultsport Twingo Cup (D 284)
2007 Renaultsport Clio 197 (C 393)
2003 Renaultsport Clio V6 (C 394)
2010 Renaultsport Megane 250 (B 427)
Stunning shot Feirny, something about it I really love. I think it's the fact that it's almost a wide angle shot when normally you would expect a long telephoto field of view with this kind of shot. Lovely depth of field and lighting as well, which lens was this with?
Best advice so far!
I did day 2 of a couples epic 48hr wedding (they had a pro for day 1) and even though they preferred my pics and used one for their thank you cards etc, I would never ever do it again. At that time I had two bodies and a Nikon 80-200 2.8 AF-S in my collection, but even so it...
A bit OT but where are you off to for your honeymoon? I went Micro 4/3 for the same reason, we're doing NYC this Christmas and then Las Vegas/Hawaii/San Francisco for our honeymoon next August so it felt like a good time to go M4/3s.
I hated carrying my DSLR stuff around on our USA road trip...
Oooooh exciting. I would do this for £800...
Panasonic G3 - £490
Panasonic 20mm 1.7 - £290
I was torn between suggesting the G3 or one of the Pens, but the EVF on the G3 makes it a safer bet. the 20mm 1.7 is a no brainer, great piece of kit.
They just update the livery on cars a couple of years old, I think I remember reading they use an old Toro Rosso as well.
And it was definitely DC, he spent a while out there doing promo work during the summer break.
HD video video on a DSLR vs. HD video on a M4/3 is like two completely diffrerent worlds. The video on my D90 was nice, but live view + rubbish focusing meant I never used it. The HD video on a M4/3 mirrorless camera is by definition bordering on professional quality...it's also very easy to...
Yep I've had it since May, love it! Sounds a bit 'diesel-y' at idle and is extremely skittish when cornering right on uneven roads (not been able to solve that one yet) but it's great to drive. I was supposed to be buying an MX-5 but couldn't resist when I spotted Nick's for sale.
No it's tiny, fantastic little lens (and yes it's a constant f2.8)

Here are a bunch of my shots taken with it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/harry_s/sets/72157611075294126/
I was in Quarry (the normal raceday car park) and had no issues leaving, the grass was still grass. I intentionally arrived early (8:30) as I've had the misfortune of parking in the overflow before at Japfest.
I love my Pen, but nobody talks to me any more! I used to get a few randoms start chatting with me at every event about photography when I had my big Nikon kit. Now? Nothing! I guess they assume I don't know what I'm doing as I have a little camera.
My 5th Rallyday I think, a bit 'meh' this year apart from the second hour of the Feature Stage, the weather conditions were fun though!

Still spending my Nikon money (taken with the 14mm 2.5, which also arrived today!)...
Samyang 7.5mm f3.5 Fisheye (right)
I'm guessing at some point I'm going to stop being amazed at how small each lens that arrives is. The Samyang that arrived today is built like a tank but is so teeny. It...
A few from Saturday, only popped in during the morning to give my new little camera a workout. Loads of RS Clios about on track and parked around the circuit...

I got the best prices by eBaying stuff (no reserve, no starting price), a bit risky but worked out ok. Even after fees I made a profit on quite a bit of my stuff (as it was second-hand to begin with), the 70-200 2.8 VR made £100 profit, and even the D90 (which I bought new) only went for £150...
I tinkered with my settings yesterday and had a fantastic 3hrs shooting motorsport with my G3, sure the photos won't stand up to pixel by pixel scrutiny (although I was using crazy shutter speeds and it was very windy) but it was great fun wandering around without a backpack and holding a lens...
Great stuff, the 20mm 1.7 is a peach, that and the 45mm 1.8 that should be shipping in a week or two will be a great set up for a large range of shots. I'm shooting every single weekend now, unthinkable a few months ago.
