Currently removing my gearbox - tips please

With the right tools, it is for sure. With short axle stands, hand tools only and a regular trolley jack rather than a big b*****d like i have now, i'd still go out the top. lol.

Currently removing my gearbox - tips please

@Dan@SJM I apologise also BTW. Removed a box from my 182 last night subframe down on one side. Came out so much quicker than out the top. Putting it back in, i might have a bit more fun on the deck tbh.

    What are these called?

Are you sure you broke them?! I've removed these countless ones and refitted and the clips are hard as nails. You have to push a lot harder than you think you would need to for them to snap back in place.

    Which ABS sensors?

I hate to think what that thing owed you. Lol.

    Coolant change how to

You don't have to TBH. It will self bleed, just takes a lot longer.

Is this real or fake? (Steering wheel content)

I crashed my old 106 whilst holding onto a fake OMP. It's proper bent. Luckily i was going backwards into what i hit. lol.

Is this real or fake? (Steering wheel content)

Looks like it should be in an arcade machine IMO

    172 rear calliper bolt stuck

Yep. t**t the retaining shim over to the left and use a socket.

    Which air box?

    I have a Ph1 172 airbox for sale. £40 posted. You'll need to buy a filter, but they're pennies from ECP/the likes.

Think this will be a write off?

If someone ever crashes into me and I claim, I'll have @gally act on my behalf. As long as he can learn English in time. Xxx

Think this will be a write off?

Why should it be trade value? He should be able to replace his vehicle with a likewise model, in similar condition and miles.

Rainsports -v- Winter tyres (Miata owners)

I rocked Hankook Ice Bears on my old 106d all year round. Wicked tyres. Icey/snowy hill. Range Rover couldn't get up. 106 could.

    New engine needed :(

Mileage means nothing really TBH. Even on 76k, if it's not had an oil change for 50k miles you never know....

    New engine needed :(

Nope, won't gain any power by putting a 182 engine in. Not the bare engine anyway. If you put the lower inlet manifold and the exhaust manifold on, you'd gain a touch, but would need to get a link pipe from the mani to your exhaust. Hassle tbh.

    New engine needed :(

I wouldn't worry at all TBH, buy one from a well serviced car. Could save some money if it's had recent belt kit & dephaser..

    matched inlets.. gains

Little mods like this make no real difference tbh. It's when you combine 4/5/6 of these small mods that it becomes 'worthwhile'. That said, unless going cams/ITB's/Boost, in my eyes it's pointless chasing more powah from a 1*2. Suspension and brakes will almost certainly be money better spent...

    Engine cuts out whilst driving

Air leak somewhere is my guess.

Best suspension to run slicks on ?

If you can't have enough fun on 888's or Direzzas then i don't know what you will TBH.
  23. Budgie

Worth changing to 197 rear brakes?

Not in the slightest. Rears do eff all on a 1*2.

Just find someone breaking a known running good car tbh. Simplest way. Just do the cambelt and clutch while it's out and you'll be alright. @Kelv @stevem42 ^Both break cars and are local-ish to you

That laser spanner would work, but you might have to cut it in half/bend it to fit.
