hehe, thought it might be a good idea to get my bald tyres off asap, plus i was like a little kid at christmas. Went up the multistory this morning (were i park for work) for the first time with the 15's on....uh oh...it scrapped with 16's but now...not good :dead:
Whats even worse, the car...
Nice to meet gareth and amy today, picked up my new wheels, 2118's.
Just rushed to clean the car before sun went down, and it starts to **** it down AND my dslr wasn't charged. So heres a dull rainy shot taken on my phone. FAIL
Yummy PE2's
I think it might need lowering?
Will be coming along like every month, this one should be a biggy. Last two years have been absolutely packed on supercar sunday, especially if the weather is nice.
Absolutely loving them, i found the cup suspension quite crashy on bumpy roads, the ktecs give a much solid ride all round.
Got some more work done on the car today. Thought i was going to have to take off the whole front to do this, but figured out just before i could just remove the arch...
Gave the car an epic clean today, stripped it back to lacquer (chemical wash + claybar) then polished and waxed it. Some photos i took while going out for a hoon!
Got the rear suspension on today, only ran into one problem where i thought you had to use the boot off the old shock, but a quick phone call to ktec cleared this up! Was pretty damn easy to do the back tbh, took about 25mins per side. Took the car down to the garage and got the tracking...
hehe yeah i did see that, was a mixture of reasons why i haven't done it yet. Was late when fitting them/bolt was badly corroded/didn't have the right size bit to take the bolt out :p
Went for a very quick ghetto fix on my saggy exhaust, still plenty of play in the mount too.
Found out what that rattle is at the back of my car too. Both bits have come loose either side, need to get some larger washers. The heat shield is basically leaning on the exhaust back boxes!
Thanks guys, went out late last night after work and played with the front coilovers, got it to a sensible height now, no rubbing under heavy load and seems very impressive. Feels much flatter than the cup suspension. Rears are going on tomorrow, so will report back after that. Going to let...
facepalm is when you slightly kink your head, raise your hand up to eyes/forehead, cover it with the palm of your hand, and slowly let out a deep sigh in complete and utter disappointment.
Found out that the clio subframes are not the same height each side, so modifying the astra ones isn't going to work, looks like i'll be buying the actual clio ones (so expensive though :x)
My mate Max came round today and we cracked on with the suspension, only had time to do the fronts, but...
Common as muck cars :rasp:
Lovely sounding turbo 182, heard the fluttering but was blinded by the sun, only just saw you give a nod as you drove past! :rasp:
Another racing blue 182 in Morrison's car park, seen it there a few times?
And finally a black 182 (i think) just outside the...
Howdy mike :race:
Not much progress with the car, had no time off work to do anything + bit short of cash atm. Gonna try and make some custom subframes for the buckets, and continue with the stripping of the inside. Not gonna go mental as this will still be used as a daily, so i still need...
Right well i know nothing about brakes, or the problems that can occur, im only going off second hand information which sounds to be wrong? :p
I was getting the stop and handbrake warning lights flash on after heavy braking but they went out straight away...and like said already, was getting...
