Ok so just got off the phone with the seller and was asking about the cambelt change, which he has a receipt for and it was done very recently, then I said what about auxillary belt and he said he had it changed about 2000miles before the cambelt so I said why didnt you get them done together as...
Hi all I think I may have finally found a Clio 182! Will possibly be going to buy this weekend after a good phone call today, only thing is since being on here I have read to avoid APEX springs like the plague lol and it would appear that this 182 will come equipped with a set of 40mm APEX's...
Yea I took my sister with me, well she drove us down, and as soon as she saw it she said "wasnt this supposed to be mint?" lol but yea glad I didnt just buy it, not fun driving around in a shed at the moment but at least if I wait long enough I should get a belter
Yea tbh I should of asked abit more in depth! Probably just to excited about potentially getting my 182 haha, won't make mistake again though, hoping one comes for sale before bank holiday Monday, luckily I have never bought a shed before, always spotted the crap and walked, touch wood!
Exactly what I did, and was told "the only thing I can fault on this car is the steering wheel"
Was told body work was A1 and all belts had been changed, which was clearly rubbish, patience is a virtue I guess though, and I'm sure I will find one eventually, was looking forward to have bank...
Since looking on here I recently saw a 182 advertised as mint, then browsed previous threads and found alot of nasty info! really is a lottery when buying a used car, glad I know at least a decent amount of vehicle mechanics to help me avoid the sheds
especially when your daily driver sells sooner than you thought so your stuck driving your mums first gen corsa with 111k miles on the clock, butterfly and flower decals all over it, no handbrake, full beam comes on whenever you go near the stalk lol oh its fun!
tempted to just whack what I have...
So took a trip up to Carlisle today to view a Clio 182 that over the phone was "immaculate" and had all its belts changed and a FSH, drive took just under 2 hours.
Got there and straight away it became apparent I had yet again been lied to about mostly all details on the car! Headlights were...
love my personalised plate, but dont forget you need to pay for each time you transfer it, so for every new vehicle, £105 for a years retention, or £80 straight swap onto another vehicle, all the docs are sent with the purchase and make it really easy
Thanks for those recommendations I will make a note of them! Never really owned a performance car before so until now never realised the cambelt could effect a car that much! I obviously knew of the importance of having the belts done though, well fingers crossed I can find a car withing the...
true, not something Ive really thought about doing to be honest! If my last 2 cars on my list come up as no goes I thing I will probably do that, and find someone decent to do the belts!
Thanks :approve:
Ive just been looking through the for sale section on the forum actually, never realised I had access to it, will see what I can find, i'm basically after a BG 182 FF, Ive phoned 7 up last week and not one had their belts changed, poor cars, and some were up to 70k miles! I would be scared just...
Yea the exhaust is terrible, that would need sorting asap, well it has been listed for about 2 months now, so my idea was that if they wouldn't take 3k to leave it, i'm just getting a little impatient now as every Clio within 100 miles I have phoned about has something wrong, I am shocked at the...

apparently fitted by Evans Halshaw may 2010, I will enquire as to how many miles it had on it prior to installation and how many since its been fitted, does the DVLA need to be informed when you swap engines?
car is in sunderland, so about 4 hours from Gloucester!
Hi I have found a clio 182 for sale at quite a good price and only 60k miles, however should I be worried that the car had a new engine fitted last year? Or take advantage that I would be buying a car with a virtually brand new engine?!
I plant to phone the garage when they are open to find out...
well definitely not gonna but through eBay, will just go down and pay cash etc, I usually go by mileage as for me its reflects bodywork in a good majority of the cases, unless very well cared for of course!
Quite a good time of year to buy as people seem to be lowering prices for a sale!
