So... this is my car, Titanium silver 182ff
When I bought it, it had a plywood front splitter on attached to the subframe. It looked hideous just matt blacked and was heavy so I've removed it.
But now with no splitter on it doesn't look right.
So I've bought a skoda splitter off ebay...
Got rid of the s**t battery box the previous owner fitted and fitted an OBP one. Wanted it behind the passenger seat but when I looked underneath the petrol tank is butted up to the great seat base so didn't fancy drilling through the tank. Sooo I fit it in front of the seat. Looks neat enough...
Got the roof machine polished and any blemishes nibbed out. Then fitted the roof vent. Screens not coming until Wednesday ? so I'm just going to machine polish the full car seen as Though it's at work
So today.....
Removed windscreen.
Removed ariel base and panel bonded a patch in.
Used dent bars to push dents out and a punch and light chisel to remove high spots.
Filled the roof.
Fitted cup roof scoop.
Metal filled the hole for ariel.
I work for bmw as a Senior ATA Panel Technician. Yes it can be plastic welded, hot stapled, epoxy glued, reinforced with matting behind it .... but... with it being a mounting point with the 30 torx bolt in it the chances are it's going to break off again. Depends on how good of a job you want...
I'm gutted. Looked brand new from the front. Spent ages on the bonnet aswell, cut all the inside out to lighten it spent ages making it perfect and getting the aero catches to fit perfect
So.. had a good afternoon.
Fresh painted front bumper and bonnet. Painted all the trims in the bumper.
Polished the headlights n wings.
Fitted a sunstrip ready for first track day.
Left work looking like this...... didn't lock the bonnet catches .....
b****cks...........
So I'm looking to get a front splitter and Canards. Cm composites seem to have a good setup but was just wondering if anyone here runs them or anything similar.
Also rear defuser, any off the shelf or is it a sheel of aluminium and make your own?
I can vouch for group N timing.
170lbs ft, stock internals and 197bhp at EFI yesterday.
48mm jenveys
225 injectors
182 mani
Gen 90 ecu
M8 with JMS RS2 stock everything else on a 172 cup got 194bhp 151lbs ft.
Group N timing would have seen 160lbs ft
