Still going strong!!
Was a rare sighting today, never usually take it to work but my boxster is in for an MOT so the z has been pressed back into commuting duties for a few days.
Nothing majorly new with the car. I'm going to have some paintwork done in the new year as its starting to look tatty in places, along with an Inspection II service as that's not a million miles away either.
Anyway, got myself a little sony action cam recently, so here are a couple of in car...
Thats a really good deal. Nice unit too, adds a few cool features like POIs shown on the map screen and voice guidance that doesn't sound like a 1980's speak and spell.
Essentially no difference other than what you mentioned
Larger screen - 5" versus 4.3"
Way more maps - 54 has Full Europe, 42 only has UK
The 54 is a slightly newer model too, so you might find it works very slightly quicker than the 42 but the difference in that regard will be incredibly...
Yes mate. I've seen loads of their work, recommended many people to them, even had the old man's 911 wheels redone there but until now never taken a set of my own wheels to them.
Had the wheels acid dipped and powder coated last week. They were previously repainted to a low standard in completely the wrong shade - very flat with little shine.
Much happier with the new result for the cost - all four for £105:
Tom
I've sold them for a living for 7 years.
Go Garmin. Not a huge difference between tomtom/garmin any more, but for me garmin still come out on top.
Much nicer to deal with aftersales wise if you have a warranty issue.
We still see less garmins come back as wonky.
Tend to be £10 or £20 cheaper...
HA! I'm sorry Ali.
Your worst fears are true.
I wouldn't swap the M for one in a million years but emotion aside the fiesta just does everything better.
I'm sorry i have failed you.
No plans for any more big changes.
Next job is to get the wheels refurbed. They were done pretty badly last time around and are starting to show it.
Might do a VANOS refresh if i can pick up a good second hand unit at a reasonable price.
I'm still surprised at the response from everyone to...
Thanks Ant, will do.
I had 2 request just the same from the Z3MCoupe forums.
Looks like demand is rising for certain colours/spec, which I haven't seen before.
Minor update,.
The panda is now for sale, as I took delivery of this a few days ago thanks to the amazing lease deal thread on this very website:
Safe to say its amazing.
Its going to be perfect for any journeys I dont want to make in the M and of course the usual commuting work.
On a...
Plan is to sell it but I can see myself not wanting to let it go.
The M is basically my 321bhp moving house deposit so the right move might be to sell that and keep the panda if the time is right.
The car cover is more out of hope than anything.
The one year i do things properly and actually buy a winter car and i haven't seen one drop of snow FFS! To be fair the bimmer has been under there since Jan when it has obviously been less pleasant, I just didnt take any pictures until now...
Tucked the sports-van up for winter a month or so back:
This was only possible because i bought myself an actual ice cream van as a winter chariot:
Its completely brilliant to be honest. It is literally just quick enough to be perfect for its role as a fun commuter. 1 lady owner from...
Had no idea so many people saw that magazine. Been getting facebook messages about it left right and centre.
Nope.
European right hand drive S50 engine: 821 built
I actually told the journalist there were about 500 left, but that must have been interpreted as how many made...
Ha!
I'm 25 and luckily my hair is still its natural colour!
I'm surprised to learn there must be another imola red one locally. They certainly aren't on the forums.
No huge progress, but sorted a few small things like a new set of genuine side grill badges after the previous "genuine" set I bought went downhill rapidly (and never fit quite right).
Re-hung the right-hand eisenmann as it had started to drop a little.
New set of rear tyres.
Anyway, the...
This website has been invaluable for me during ownership of my current and previous BMW's ownership:
http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/
I can also thoroughly recommend the kit from these guys. They have compiled all of BMW's own diagnostic software and made them work on modern pc's/laptops...
That looks fantastic.
Do some research into the M50 inlet manifold swap (not exhaust manifold as mentioned previously)
I had one on mine made by a well known chap online called Alpina527. He adapts the much larger manifolds from the earlier 325i to bolt directly onto the M52 328i engine...
I know its only a video and not even close to gameplay or real-time rendered, but sweet christ. Seriously wow.
There are bits coming dangerously close to where I actually cannot tell if its live-action or not.
