Bumping this as I am fed up with buying second hand shafts and don't want to pay Renault £510+ for a new pair!
How are people finding the J&R / Shaftec or any other 172 Cup shafts?
Thanks
I wouldn't take the bulb out
For a start you will have to remove an smd from a circuit board, not just a normal plug and play bulb, and not to mention that I'm pretty sure the light must come on and go off for MOT but unsure what strict some garages are with that.
The other plugs coming from...
We all live in the UK and the only day it gets sunny and warm people can't cope without the air con lol. Personally love having the windows down and the fresh air.
Make sure you all have your heated seats ready for winter? :)
Screw-less front plate
Security window stickers - Bin
Rear wiper - Raise slightly
Front Wipers - Flat Blades
Perfect! It does look very healthy for itself and love the rarity of the colour!
Did this used to have silver wheels, swear it did when you sent me the headunit photos yonks ago? :)
Love the low shot of the rears wound down!
The exhaust mount is disgusting lol
As for the Micra, what about the mirrors and side repeaters, shameful similarities :(
How have I missed this whole thread!
Nice to see a progress thread that's not page after page of talking non-sense
Love a decent RB, and with white wheels, a real favourite for me! Nice one dude!
If they've thrown the codes, chances are they are knackered. When the faults used to come and go on mine, they were rattling when I removed them!
The pre-cat is the one that causes issues.
However without knowing the rest of the car (plugs/leads/injectors/coilpack/etc) it's hard to tell. The...
Replacement bootlid?
Spare wheel area damaged or behind the bumper?
Check under roof lining for the fixings, loosen them and play around with the alignment, or if the painted area around the brackets/fixings looks ok, maybe its been badly repaired?
Just swapped mine from 6000k to 5000k. The 5000k look great on a white car
6000k would look good on a blue car, and they aren't as ridiculous as the common 8000k ones.
You are welcome to the 6000k ones if you pay the postage
In which case... dont bother. If you aren't generally familar with the mechanical side of cars and the maintenance needed then it's going to be a complete money pit
Gearbox - Check your passenger driveshaft is sealing properly as the inner boot holds your gearbox oil in, if not, check the linkage pin where it goes into the small plastic bush with circlip
losing over weeks explains the mess
only real way of telling is clean everything. lots of blue roll or similar and brake cleaner should do it. then check after a short run / idling
How did you get on?
I've had this fault code on and off for a while now, and that was with everything fitted because the sensor packed up. Need to get the multimeter on the plug myself and bang a resistor in the plug as mentioned above.
Thats what I'm planning anyway
So if your doing it yourself, £150/£200 there abouts, with all new brakes and track rods with tracking done so it should feel better.
Getting a garage to do it, probably nearer £300-400
ish....
You've had more cars than your first post leads on ;) Good to see you on here :)
Rare little cars and a good bit of fun to chuck around. Don't suppose you work in the parts dept at Vospers do you!? Forever there lol...
Looks like its come along nicely since the project thread dude
Strangely only looked through it the other day!
Good to see you back. If I was to make a criticism it would be the bonnet alarm sensor, hide the amp cable and remove the polish on the splitter lol ;)
