^ Thanks. Pretty much agree with everything you say. Will check that I replaced the ICV properly, cant remember a sealing ring or gasket. Yes- got gasket on order. Got used throttle body coming. Yes- ICV is a few inches past the butterfly throttle body. Yes- may well get hold of a used or...
Approaching traffic lights, braking, take out of gear at about 10mph, and the revs drop to 1000, then up to 2000, (Sometimes 2500 eek!) then down to 1000, then up to 2000, then down to 1000..... you get the drift. every second or so. Whats to blame?
Ive had very recent history (bad) with the...
So- cleaned the ICV, and the car definitely better. However, not cured methinks. When idling at lights its sometimes as high as 1500 rpm or 1250 rpm, then drops and steadies at 1000rpm after about 2-3 seconds. When changing down (the in neutral split second) seems quite low on revs too which is...
Right- found a couple photos on this site confirming where the ICV is. Disconnected the pipe with the ICV on the end. It looked all carbonned up, so gave it a good clean with carb cleaner. Still do the inmlet tract with the engine running?
Having this issue too. Trying the ICV today, and any photos ot help out be nice. One already been posted on another thread (Thanks) but not very clear. Location of ICV.
It seems a bit different, very slightly twitchy at rear, but havent driven hard yet. Could always take them off when putting track wheels on i suppose.
Got all these issues my self and working thru them. Throttle body removal and clean for me on my day off tomorrow. TB spring looks well grubby even after squirting cleaner spray and WD. Gonna get an enlarged throttle body as a spare too.
Would it be better handling wise to put my 20mm on the front and get some 10mm for the back? In the past ive always put bigger spacers on the rear as a) it looks better imo b) it usually adds more stability when cornering with a wider rear wheel spacing. Or go for 20mm all round?
^Thanks. Have now changed the internal steel cable (As first one snapped) and lubed it, lubed with spray where the accelerator cable enters the vehicle near the pedal. Certainly better, i thought almost cured at one stage. Then the intermittent revving between 1 and 2 k returned.
So, cleaned...
Nine was Do-do for a few goes over a few days, then cranked over a bit, didnt start
Jump started, wouldnt start
Bump started- fine
Called RAC for another issue (Snapped accelrator cable i couldnt sort after 2 hours- nor could he it ended up) and he tested the battery, said it was knackered...
About 6 cars in a street i used to live in had badges swiped a few years back- cops didnt wanna know
Suppose they couldnt have done didddly squat anyway
The silver Clios do look nice in photos, especially when wet. Mine cost £600, and it looks real good in photos, but not as fab in real life
20mm for me on rears, makes it look nice n chunky, havent pushed it yet to notice a change in handling
Have fun tracking yours, must meet up somewhere on a...
