The stock large clips on the boots always seem to break, dumping the gease when they do. I'd change it for a jubilee clip while you're fitting the new one.
Excellent, thanks. From what I've read on spring rates the 182 cup springs are 30% stiffer on the front, rear 10%. The roads I drive on are terrible and have seen some 172 springs for next to nothing (I have 182 ff) and was thinking about swapping them.
You mean the arm? If it's been on there a while it probably won't come off without a fight and the plastic ends up breaking away from the metal sleeve that goes on the shaft. I ended up cutting mine off with my Dremel and a cutting blade.
Get the loom sorted. Sounds like you've already blown a bit of cash guessing the fault, a specialist will be able to sort it for a couple of hours labour.
Sorry it's a little off topic but how do you get the sensors out without clips breaking? Mine hunts on light throttle, I'm thinking an air leak on the plenum.
I would of thought the manufacturer will want to know why, firstly because if it becomes common they can work on a fix and if there's a reason the warrenty is void before they give away thousands of pounds worth of parts. It wouldn't take a dealer ten minutes to find out if it's been mapped.

Thanks guys, some good ideas. I did think about that mount mod but instead of using a powerflex a solid piece of high density rubber like this so holes could be drilled exactly where you want the exhaust to sit.
