Just been looking through the service manual and the wiring diagram shows a supply and earth feed from the injection computer (pins 74, 75) and the signal input (43) but the fault on mine is a difference between the two tracks? Did they change the design?
Looks like I have the same problem, I'm getting an inconsistency between tracks 1 and 2. Mick, I would come to see you but I'm down in the south east. I've checked out the connector in the fuse/relay box, the big connector under the scuttle and where I can measured continuity between the white...
Cleared the faults, waited until it faulted again and read them and it's showing inconsistency between throttle tracks 1 and 2. Guess that'll be a fault in the loom somewhere then.
The limp home mode, it does it all the time regardless of the weather or engine temp. The rs tuner can't seem to wipe the faults or read any engine parameters, I'm not sure if that's because it's still locked? I'm waiting for the unlock code.
Received my RS Tuner today and read the faults (the car is going into limp mode, showing the electrical fault and emissions fault) and could do with some assistance on how to address them all!
Agreed, as much as I loved my 14a, most of the time was spent trying to keep it pointing in the right direction, especially in the wet. Most of my time in my 182 is spent grinning like a little kid!
Take the plate off in the drivers footwell with the two climate control motors, your problem will be obvious. A small jubilee clip and some araldite is all that is required.
Wish I had the time and spare cash to have a go with mine. I've bought some 3m carbon I'm going to have a play with. Oh, and ignore those that say it won't look good, if we all wanted the same thing they'd only make the car in one colour!
A faulty resistor pack will effect the speed of the fan, not temp. The climate control fault is well documented on here and an easy repair. Had to do mine when I bought it.
Mine still measured 13v when the engine was running but the alternator was shot. As I increased the revs the battery and stop light would go off, the more load that was on the battery (lights, stereo etc) the higher the revs would have to be.
I believe they basically get put in an ultrasonic cleaner to remove contaminants. A specialist will monitor flow rate and pattern before and after and show you the results.
