should have a sticker on the case. 0.70 is the most most up to date version. if you have 0.55 you can have it upgraded by an easy eprom swap (which they used to do for free as 0.55 was very glitchy) The eprom will have a sticker on it if you take the cover off with either 055 or 070 on it
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
The lower inlet was very well matched to the head by the way, ideally should be kept on that engine, it is too large for a standard port IIRC
Shouldn't need a heavy skim to bring compression up, the pistons are just not what they claim, and never have been. I've used iapel in Pete's racecar engine. More money but a better piston and better quality rings supplied. Wossner quality is OK, but you can't take things for granted. I've used...
100% condition dependant. you need someone who wants to buy it to come up with the money you want for it. too rare to earmark a value, but not rare enough to be valuable
wear on them is very geometry sensitive. I like them personally, very good value. I'm not a fan of ultra grippy tyres though, prefer progressive and predictable looseness
Definitely been re used. We spotted a lot of bodges when the car was bought as it had an engine swap just before. I'd like to check cam timing anyway to be honest.
you'll end up getting an ECU and doing it in a rush. I'd get the ECU first and build on the spec from there personally (what I'm currently doing with my 197)
99% of aftermarket ECUs won't use a knock sensor for feedback. it's a mass production safety measure that's not needed when you're mapping each car individually
you can't even use them on standard pistons. Don't try it, it'll be a pig to drive. might make ok power, but light throttle stuff will confuse the MAP sensor
they are now the rarest mk1 around, only 100-odd left. fantastic cars, and overshadowed by the 16v which wasn't really fair as the f3p is a superb lump
Weld it. They all go floppy, you'll be chasing your tail by fitting another that isn't welded. I have a non pas rack and column which I ran on my RSI if you're interested in converting
