In fairness your M3 would rip it a new one if you're on it, you're around 130hp better off! Beauty of these is that even when you're not really trying they're very quick, effortless.. which is exactly what I wanted from a car as I can't really be arsed to 'drive' these days.
I've seen a few...
Gearbox is rated to around 540lbft... Evolves standard map is to around 515lbft with the no cost option of 540lbft.
Paul reckons 600lbft is easily possible with no other mods, but it would be a bit daft to put the gearbox through it imo.
Even as standard the twist low down is very impressive...
Yes 286hp and 430lbft. On this run it averaged 36.7 mpg, normally it does 34/35 and 400 to a tank (I fill up before the light comes on though normally showing 60-70 left) Pretty good really considering the power and being an auto.
Yeah keen but no traffic makes it. Nice run, first time up...
Been meaning to do this for ages. Me and the wife set off at 4:15 this morning with the aim of not hitting any traffic. Worked fantastic, had a fantastic drive!
Stopped off at a few places in the dales from my old stomping ground on the way up. I'm no good at taking pictures but hope you like...
Black.
I've got black ones. Wasn't sure at first but I went with it, swapped them back to silver the other day and hated them! Back to black again now..
If you get the BMW glossy ones its a perfect match for the glossy shadow line and mirror surrounds etc.
I thought about this and it's been discussed elsewhere before with no definite answer that I could find.
You can remove the box but... the turbo's have been boosting a lot harder and it's been fuelling a lot heavier than standard etc etc.. What's to say these values (over and above a standard...
Definitely pounds feet. 428lbft/580nm standard, 550lbft/745nm mapped.. That's playing it safe as the gearbox is 'only' rated to 720nm. 600lbft is easily possible with no other mods but IMO it's asking for trouble.
It is a diesel, though.
oh right... Ill double check the booklet but I thought I was certain that it said you had to use BMW service parts etc but it just didn't need doing at a dealer.
Which dealer do you work at as you're local?
Also. It states no modifications at all... Could argue that his being on non standard wheels is a mod but it wouldn't affect the turbos etc anyway.. It depends on the dealer as they put the claim into the insurance policy.
If you're after remapping forget the warranty. I'm in 2 minds, I'm...
Doesn't have to be complete BMW history at a BMW dealer but it needs to be done as required on the condition based servicing and using genuine BMW parts.
No inspection required. You take the policy out and make the first payment but it doesn't commence for a month after that which is to get...
I like it a lot.. I'd not mess with it at all else you'll just look like chav/wannabe etc. looks perfect and sensible just as is.
Not sure I'd of picked it over an RS6 though!
I removed the bolt at the hub side of the wishbone and unscrewed the bottom of the damper.. That made the lot drop so the spring pulled out.
Did that side so I didn't throw anything out; as you say all the bolts on the inside are for camber/toe and you'll never get them back to how they were.
The new timepiece is great.. Never off the wrist.
I can see why you don't like the monthlies but I have about 50% equity in the car and if you keep it at a sensible level like that you don't notice them!
I got rid of runflats on mine. Best thing I ever did.
Looks mint Alan..
With 210hp I wouldn't bother trying to squeeze more out of it and risk your warranty.. I've got BMW warranty on the 335 which is good but bloody annoying as I wish I could map it.
Re looking like a 'normal' MINI. That's a good thing IMO
I'd prefer a 3 door RS3 but to many that would be more pointless than the 5 door..
It probably understeers like a b**ch on the limit, on track.. But going at 8 or 9/10ths on the road I can't see it been any issue.
335i and 335d use different brakes to the rest of the range.. They're supposedly better than the BMWP brake kit you can get.
Basically if you had a 330d you'd be better off putting 335 brakes on rather than the BMWP ones.. Although they don't look half as good.
