Nice that's only a few quid more than the old Corsa VXR deal, and they're horrible!
i fancy one in black, see if the deals still on in another 15 months when ours goes back!
He may want to get it checked out.. A standard 335d is a bloody quick car, and 430lbft does really pull, specially if you lock it in 4th at 40mph.. It feels quick from the drivers seat, even more if you're a passenger! It should of really impressed you (unless you're used to 911 Turbos)
Maybe they've just given up on it.. Not worth the investment. Although they are really popular in the US.
Unfortunately (because I love petrols) the diesels make most sense over here.
I'm surprised they didn't lift the 335i to ~330hp just to put it slightly in front.. The output of it hasn't budged since the E90, whereas the 335d has gained around 30hp.
There isn't really a good reason to get the 335i unless you really hate diesels, really want a petrol, or want rwd...
It's not a flat spot really, just a slight lack of low down go.. If you've not had one before you'd not notice.
for £50 I'd fit the repair kit as a precaution. It can go instantly.
Your build sheet if interested...

Lack of torque below circa 3.5k when it should be shut.. Mine was just flapping about and sounded horrible.
New ones are expensive but the repair kit is only around £50 and dead easy to do at home.
Worst thing is when it breaks it gets sucked into your engine.
Bit of practical advice.. Check your DISA valve ASAP (petrol swirl flap type thing) mine was broke, with the pin hanging out.. It probably wasn't far from lunching the engine.
You can get a repair kit from I6 which is well worth fitting as a precaution.
My auto is at 25mpg now but my thermostat is knackard.. Highs of 70 degrees.
Should rise a couple when that's fixed.
I'd not buy one without the xenons though!
