Very nice car with just the right amount mods keep it going , mine has just sold and kept the interior stock, sorry to see it go as it came up like a new pin,
Used for sprinting fitted with a Gripper diff and lower FD CWP, all these cars need to be competitive.
Regards Russ....
I garage mine and never leave the handbrake on or in gear, I use 2 small wedges at either end of the cars wheels, possibly a sticking calliper if it was hot after
a long run when you last parked it up.
Regards Russ..
Chris is the only person who I'll be leaving mine with he sorted it out when the Cup was on standard cams and he'll be doing the Piper 285's, top man and it's his main job, I'll be leaving mine with him for a few days to sort out all the cold start problems you can get, I'm on a standard inlet...
Try searching Bacci Romano I think that's the name they do Group N and group A gear kits for the JC5, I 've been searching but don't have the details to hand.
Regards Russ...
Epic car seen this from the start of the build, hope to see this at a few venues sprint/hill climbs when completed, there's a few cars being built for the Sport Libre class at the moment.
Regards Russ....
True,he'd have to drain it then but as you said would be hard^^^^^^with fluid but would give an idea, I think there are enough threads asking the same question for him to make an informed decision, I wouldn't do it but would like the adjustable control, I like the 106 set up as well.

Easy, find a quiet private road with a very small gradient and let it free wheel out of gear with the engine off and ignition on to 1st click to stop steering lock, don't let it build to much speed this should give you an idea, you do this at your own risk.
Regards Russ.......
If it sounds like a rumbling noise or grinding then it'll possibly be your front wheel bearing, mine did this on the near side front and it became worse as I turned in harder and faster, at 1st I thought it was the drive shaft, I had no movement on the wheel when jacked up but did have a damaged...
Great work ^^^^^ and a good thread by those that have done the leg work etc, could do with a mod trimming it down to get rid of the posts like this one I'm doing to keep it easier to follow:approve: Think I'll be going this route next season.
Regards Russ..........
Hello Paul,
Ha ha nice one, good result Sunday for you well done, I hope your only doing that on practice lol that place is lethal in those conditions.
Regards Russ.
Yes it has been done and there are a few on the forum who I think have had it don using the VAG 6 speed 02m , best bet would be to join the forum for a small fee and get all the info and full access you need, I assume you are boosting the car as the stock box won't last long with big power, I...
The K&N sounds your best bet, just weigh up the cost per paper filter change against the K&N if you intend on keeping the car, probably best for your with regards to weather and sand dependant on when you drive the car, I've got one fitted and clean it once a year.
Regards Russ.....
It's how it drives that counts to be honest, torque looks a little dissapointing.
The only problem I see is you need to arrange fitting in line with belts and a remap for maximum results which is a shame as there is only one person who can tweak the timing for maximum power torque gains atm...
Off topic, but I think you passed me on the A1 near Bedford? I was in a 172 Cup between 10-30 and 11-00ish on Monday, , the colour looks better in the flesh and just a small Mount Tune yellow badge on the hatch if it was you.
Regards Russ........
Yes it will come with an Ali top hat , mine did and I got them from kamracing which are for the 172 Cup, I can't see there being much difference on a 182 set up, I think the photo is a generic one for B14's.
Regards Russ........
I'm not sure if this helps but if they are Eibach springs I think the 180 is the spring compressed in kg per mm 180 would = 18.0 x 55.88 which would convert to 1001lbs, the lads at Blink told me this when they were working out the numbers on my rear Bilstein coils for me.
The 55-88 converts kg...
I use Super Blue and change every 12 months that's the longest I would leave it, again it depends what you do I sprint and drive to events, so normal speeds to the event and then take it out of the car on the track, and I need to drive home;)
I've never boiled standard brake fluid on the road to...
Hello all,
Just wondering if Heat Wrap will help the car at MOT time when they dot the fast idle etc heating the CAT , I've never used it but understand it helps in 2 areas.
1/ Helps the thermal efficiency of the exhaust scavenging capabilities by retaining the heat in the manifold.
2/ Helps...
I run Bilstein B14's and would say if track only car then possibly to soft, depends how you drive, I had mine set up to low initially but find they work fine for a car driven to events and have been on the car 2 years with no problems, and the geo correctly set up.
I'd say AST 1's or 2's as...
