Hello John nice result glad it's sorted, sorry I couldn't get across to spectate and didn't realise Colin had dropped out of the event, as I said when I sent the txt I was working to get some cash together for 3 Sisters and hope I get the same weather you did.
Regards Russ.....
That doesn't look correct to me, have you had the flywheel lightened or the face machined and how doe's it look bolted up, I'd contact Helix first and ask, I'd also put a machined straight edge across the padels to check the are flat along with the flywheel as the old clutch may have worn the...
Ha ha ha ha true Colin , it's called Showroom Shine off the shopping channel Ideal World, no water and the car looks like new as long as you don't get to close, won't be using water again, the cars never had water on it since I aquired it.
Can't call at Aintree to spectate John as I'm...
I'd remove the starter and make sure it's running free, I assume this is not an easy job, if you've got the wire could you wire the 2 Battery's in parrallel when charged it'll give you more current for the starter.
Regards Russ.
This sounds more like it tbh, I thought with your HC build it would exagerate the problem, but it doe's seem like a dead short, with HC engines if you have problems they can use 24v start but obviously this isn't a problem with the F4R engines and starter system, hope you sort it.
Regards...
You've proved the relay on another car, the next job would be to disconnect the wires to the SM, make sure they are safe replace the fuse and try again prove the wireing and reconnect one at a time, you could also do with putting an amp meter in line on the other SM on the other car and see what...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
The cars looking great, surely your due a trouble free run after all this, good luck with it all.
Regards Russ.......
Hello Colin,
I thought you would have had better weather in the afternoon, I think you need to do a season without spending on the car and run some other events, I'll be doing this next year running the car as is, I'll be doing the 2nd 3 Sisters 2 lapper and may call to watch John at Aintree...
Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop around the Manchester area 20mile radius, looking at getting the stone chips sorted on the front bumper.
Regards Russ........
Does anyone know if it's possible to re-calibrate the speedo if you lower the final drive on cup box via the OBD, or is it changed by the cog in the box where the speedo plugs in.
Regards Russ............
Ha ha ha haaaaaaa nice one, I'd enjoy the lycra more if you were on the your bike at Aintree,:rasp: hang on you'll probably be quicker as well:rasp:
have a good weekend I hope the weather holds out for you.
Regards Russ........
I'm not getting involved that sounds like fighting talk John, I'll get my coat.
I've just cleaned the car so at least I can keep up with the other 2 detailers in 1B:rasp:
Regards Russ........
Hello Ash and the other 2, good to meet you and hope you can get some time in the car, I'll be doing Curborough Colin as you know Sun, and then the Longton 2 lapper back at 3 Sisters, good luck with the triathlon this weekend, you must be mad lol, ps do you still need to borrow my arm bands for...
Hello John, see you and Colin on the 5th, just had the confirmation and it's passed it's MOT;), just need to raise the suspension back up about 10-15mm, should of had it set to standard ride height and started there but don't have time, and well done at Blyton as well.
Regards Russ....
Yes I know they'er not for COMPETITION , I wanted something that I could drive to events on and not have to mess about with on arrival as I've always done, I'm also limited to list 1A tyres, the idea of the reply is to let people know how I found them at my first event on them and was suprised...
I've gone for the B14's and have to say they are way too soft for any form of competition/track work. In my case sprints/ hillclimbs so short runs driven hard and on the limit.
I'm impressed with the rd characteristics and ride and had only driven them on B road blasts up to now, but ran 2...
I'm running the B14's and up to now love them, but you need to look at what your using them for, they need to be fit for purpose, so I would say B14's are not for an out and out track car tbh, Dan@519 did say to me that the B14's have issues but I went for them anyway as I've always used...
Enjoyed watching / reading that, some great driving skills there Tony/Jay, can't keep the rally man down, great result look foreward to the next instalment.
Regards Russ.....
I've had this for a little while, I thought it was down to the polly bushes on mine, I may have a look at the rack bushes now, I'll get worried if it stops before I have a look though, as you just tend to get used to it on an older car.
Regards Russ....
Thanks for posting that it's good to see there is something else available, but as stated would this fit the phase 1/2's 172/182's as above , the Gripper and Quaife diffs need machining and pressing on as they don't bolt on, so not DIY.
Regards Russ........
I could'nt be sure to be honest as it was a while back when CCC ran their own Sprint championship early 90's, he may have set up his own team up I don't know, he originaly raced motor bikes from what I can re-call.
Regards Russ.......
Great bit of in-car there and some great skills! the 16valves look quick, I used to sprint against a lad called Lee Franklin years ago he had an 8 valve car and he was quick in that, he used the sprints to prep it I think, can't think which championship he raced in, well done and look foreward...
Some great driving there lads, enjoyed the in-car footage and the car and engine looks strong, looks like a great job by Danny, well done.
Regards russ.......

Again well done, and the car does look great in the photos.
It looks like you all had an eventful time for a first outing.
