As you say it's the mid range that counts, never been bothered about peak figure or what the engine makes in general tbh it may as well be 180 beans, the way the car responds pulling out of corners is where the time is made. I was'nt sure if someone had done the back to back figures just to give...
vecbtb,
Unfortunatly I'll not be having a remap as it's a back to back comparison for the OE to BTB system, as you say would be worth it but I'm going to cams/itbs eventualy, I've got all my base times for the sprints I did last year and will run the car in the same spec, don't want to waist...
Yes it certainly does, I assume you've got one fitted? I'm back up to Paul at RS Tuning on Monday to see how things go on the rollers, I'm not to bothered what it makes TBH the way the car responds is so much better, their system must be great on the 182 manifold as well as I assume it'll get...
Called at BTB today to have the 182 cat and stealth stainless exhaust fitted, again what can I say, quality and workmanship 2nd to none, the car responds so much better than with the restrictive pattern system that was on, this was along with a trip to Dan at
519 Automotive so a long day...
Again Cheers Tony, handy bit of info, will probably stay with the 4:1 as standard, I'm just asking questions early on as this is well down the line, do Agency sell boxes none exchange as I'll be looking at them fitting a Quaife as well, idealy I'm looking at keeping this engine and box as one...
Bilstein B14 Coilovers
I'm going to be using these on the car, just wondered who can rebuild/service the units,
can you get parts easy enough when they require a rebuild?
Regards Russ
Is it possible to fit a switch to the fireing mechanism on the passengers airbag seperately
from the drivers airbag without triggering the light on the dash, or causing an error code, it's just that I've thought if I hit a high curb at an event it may fire the passengers side airbag, I'd prefer...
Just to say I've bought the kit Tony listed above, it's not fitted yet but looks very good quality, keeps the OE look of the gearstick, I've also bought the 25% shorter throw as well but fitting the gearstick mod first
along with the twisted dogbone poly bushes. He's called Yanoo on the forum...
I'd assume it's to do with the weight difference between the Cups and the FF Clios, the Cup dampers and springs are for a lighter car but just guessing.
Regards Russ............
Yes just got off the phone to them and it seems like they are just going to spray some grease on it, more worrying is the reg didn't register on their system but the chassis number did he thinks it had a private plate on it, I only use the car for sprints anyway and drive to events, I think aero...
Just received a safety recall for the bonnet catch on my 2003 Clio Cup:( remember seeing pictures a few years back of Clios with bonnets against their windows, can this be done by my normal garage or has Renault got to do it as it's an old car now?
Regards Russ..............
Rally cars will run on the streets of Llandudno next month as a promotional event ahead of the Rally GB, Sunday October 31st, posted in the Motor Sports News:) could be worth a visit for anyone interested.
Regards Russ.......
Maybe depending on the spec, main thing is don't let it labour as well as over rev and don't run at one constant speed, I'd do 100 have an oil and filter change and have a good look in the oil, then 250 more to be safe.

Re: 172 cup sprint/track car - soon to be RS2'd
Hello mark123
Sorry to jump in on your project thread, just like to say looks like you've got some nice mods there and the correct balance between a rd car/ track/ sprint hill climb car for competition, I'm running the Clio 172 cup in standard SB...
You could possibly try CNC porting , tel 0161-483-4810, www.cncheads.co.uk give them a call as it's a little bit nearer, they are linked to an engine builder in Stocport.
Re: 172 cup sprint/track car - soon to be RS2'd
What's the problem with the rear ARB? is it the drop links or a none standard item, good luck at Harewood and Aintree.
When you say standard do you mean Renault OE clutch and standard flywheel lightened and balanced, or are they patern items, sorry to butt in on the thread, what clutch release bearing did you get with the kit?
Regards Russ.....
I'd be interested to find out what the problem is as I'm looking at the same set up further down the line, with a group N clutch but a different make than they advertise if ones available AP etc, don't think the ATB diff is the problem.
Regards Russ......
