I'm basing mine on 2-3k per year road miles and say 10-12 sprints and a couple of track days a year you should see 3-5 years service intervals, I change oil every 6 months but that's the cheap Castrol mineral oil, you'll possibly find 1st/ 2nd synchros are the problem mine seam to be 2nd/3rd...
I'd talk to Gripper they will recommend a ramp angle for your application as they do for us on Sprints, I've got their Tarmac ramp angles set on mine I'd just visit the site, the Quaife may not be best for your application as stated once you lift a wheel, I've not noticed any problems with low...
It's being talked about on UR forum, the MSA don't set the capacity classes that's down to the clubs and individual championships, I don't see the problem they are just a good car for the standard class, as Paul said he got close;) as the class structure is quite new for standard class the...
I agree, my own car has always been legal as I've always run in SB / 1B, I've been sprint hill climbing since mid 90's and seen all the evolutions of 1B from people with race cars with a bit of trim fitted to quick people in standard cars, I won't be cutting mine but looking at another way round...
It's a grey area, I can't see a problem modifying the panel as long as you have it in place, I've spoken to a few of the lads I compete against and they can't see a problem, depends how quick you are and the type of scrutineer;) I can't understand how you can cut holes and fit air scoops on a...
If you need my old Cup box James give us a PM or txt, it's 54k and has a crunch 2nd/3rd if you need it as a quick fix for Donni, sorry to hear you had problems but looks like a you had a good quali, great time and well done all the other Clio drivers.
Regards Russ...
I've got a Gripper thanks to James fitted with the lower final drive, I've had a Quaife in the 205 and they do spin up even on tight hairpins but are worth the money if all you want is longevity and fit and forget, I'm looking at servicing the gripper on a 3-5 year turn around for what I use the...
You always get this, after you buy there always seems to be a better deal:mad: you could end up waiting for ever to buy anything looking at it that way.
Regards Russ........
If it's your daily then I'd say Quaife, but the Gripper is a different animal tbh, I've based mine on a 3-4 year service plan for the box and diff, I do about 2-3k miles a year and the rest is at Sprints and the odd test and track day. What surprised me was Aintree which is a power venue 2 x 90...
I think there is another available but it's from an earlier box and not very strong after speaking to Agency, but I went the the Gripper Diff and their CWP route, it has totally changed the car
for what I'm doing with it, 4 seconds a lap at Anglesey along with tyres and suspension, and wet...
Great effort and well done passing the info on, should be made into a sticky eventually,^^ as above I think you send the design off which he has spent the time doing via the link he posted, pay your money to the company with the 3D printer and wait for delivery.
Regards Russ.........
^^^^^^^^^^^^ This mine did the same when I'd just bought the car, sounded like a gun going off at 70 on the motorway as it hit the underside of the car along with a big rusty smoke trail in the rear view mirror.
Regards Russ......
Cheers John, if I don't get back to you straight away it's because I've turned the works phone off, I hope to have a new personal phone next month.
Regards Russ........
I'd be interested in that as I have the EC1, I don't mind paying for it as I'll be using Scoff at EFI for mapping, he sorted my map out on the current set up, I've not asked him if he has a base map yet.
Regards Russ....
If your spending £3K - £5k or more on a good engine build then a £150-00 belt and braces baffled sump, HP oil pump big wing sump etc is a no brainer, I'm sure Dan 519 or Fred posted a picture of one a while back when this was asked.

Re: New to Clio ownership and need some advice for turning it into a MSA 1b Sprint Ca
To all the above ^^^^ he's running in Rd Going 1B, driven to the event using standard top mounts, no spherical bearings allowed, as John said get to Aintree and drive the car 1st,
My offer still holds, they...
Re: New to Clio ownership and need some advice for turning it into a MSA 1b Sprint Ca

Re: New to Clio ownership and need some advice for turning it into a MSA 1b Sprint Ca
Hello karl,
If you've got the standard shocks on atm use them for a season more than good enough, it'll save you money and you can find out what falls off 1st lol, you need to remember that the rears have...
Car looks great John, is that you at Curborough with the Scooby lads? Don't sell it you'll only regret it, probably one of the best 1B cars around, quick and with comfort for the long drives to events, you did my head in at Blyton showing off with your aircon while I sweated through my seat.
;)...
Col you looking to go back to standard class or other series? if it's SB sprints just get a Teg or S2000, don't think you'll get a standard Clio Cup or other near the S2000's atm.
Regards Russ........
Cracking result Dan glad I've waited, looking forward to seeing how your 1st run goes in this Pete, I just need to start saving now.
Regards Russ......
Just viewed the in car on this at www.redbull.com/pikespeak great to see him get the car on the limiter in 6th in a couple of places, unbelievable speed and skill makes it look so easy.
Regards Russ........
I'd say they would be a must, but you could possibley get away with the standard ones for now as they are new, I'd replace the dogbone with pollybush if not already done.
