mines on original engine with 182 perfomance downpipe manifold( hard work to fit), on the 2nd gearbox as original one blew up, full coilover kit ,all suspension components changed, desphaser, headgasket,stem seals, full exhaust, decat, samco coolant hoses, new brake calipers & lines, list goes...
just checked it seems the tensioner has failed and worked it self loose ,the belt is still intact not snapped,was going 10mph max when engine died, i suspect valves will be bent...
sadly my ph1 172 cam-belt has snapped at the millage of 161,000 !!!!!! as i was parking outside my house lol im guessing all valves are bent, who else has a high mileage ph1 , im going to repair it, to much mods been done to car , and i love it!
i had the same problem , it was the gasket or in my case mine had silicone sealent and was leaking air at the throttle body where the 4 bolts are attached on the inlet
hi anyone have a w reg 2000 phase 1 clio 172 and have or use a odb scanner that works an finds faults.. cos i havent found one that detects my ecu.. im using torque pro and can get some sensors reading but no faults as it says cannot connect to ecu. apart from Renault clip, and memo scan u480...
hi my clio ph 1 172 has started using oil, it has no blue smoke or leaks,, but when hard acceleration black smoke (fuel) can be seen, have to top up every 2 weeks, idles fine, no misfires, the engine has done 156,000 miles still pulls strong up 120mph! .. i use 10w40 oil !
i have same problem for 6 months now, im going crazy, changed throttle body, icv, coolant temp sensor, cable, vacuum hoses, still idles 2000, until u blip throttle then it settles to 1000 rpm. i give up just have to put up with it,
what i found was if u blocked the idle control valve hose that...
i have the same problem, i just blocked the pipe coming of the idle control valve with a bolt, problem solved for now!
and yes, i did change, throttle cable, cleaned throttle body, got another body , was still high idling ,changed idle control valve.. like i said for ME, blocking the end of...
i got a 2000 w-reg clio 172 ph1, is the EML light meant to light up and disappear on ignition , because mines dos not light up, also i am using torque pro app, and i cannot scan for faults it says ecu not detected, i went to a few garages and they say the same ,they cant connect to my ecu with...
Is there a code ready that reads ph1 clio 172, because most ones I see, are for 2001,onwards as mine is a 2000 no readers work, even torque pro doesn't detect.. And garages can't read it, they say only Renault will read it?
