Iceberg Silver 172 Cup
124K. Belts are due soon and there is a leak from the PS. MOT until September.
In average condition (but cleans up pretty well, no dents etc just a few bumper scuffs), wheels could do with a refurb. Standard apart from having lowering springs fitted (Eibach I believe)...
Mine has just failed for no airbag (even though the lights were off). The tester showed me the part of the regs and it states something along the lines of 'factory installed airbag has been removed' I had to stick my stock wheel back on to get a pass.
It may be down to the discretion of the...
Blackridge said they wouldn't be able to turn the lights off as even Renault don't let you?
I found a solution though! Rather than plugging the resistors into the airbag connectors I plugged them into the connector behind the steering wheel Cowell (in the middle under the upper Cowell) hey...
Changed the leads today. And it has fixed it!
I'm guessing when no.1 lead was shorting to earth it must have also messed with 4. So when the plugs got swapped at the coil it moved the fault.
I swapped the leads at the coil pack end.....so in my mind it would mean faulty coil. I.e. the leads to the plugs are the same, it's just they are firing off a different coil (but same timing, as wasted spark).
Having a problem with an intermittent misfire on the clio. Details:
Car: 2003 Renault Clio 172 Cup (approx 120K)
Details: Developed a misfire on Sunday. Plugged in my cheapo code reader and got 'Misfire on Cylinder 1'. I switched the leads on the coil for 1&4 (as wasted spark) and the misfire...
Hi
I seem to have damaged the airbag wiring on my cup whilst changing the steering wheel (the part that spins with the wheel).
Does anyone local to Bedford have a Renault clip tool, so I can turn off the airbag lights (resistors haven't worked)?
Would be a massive help as the MOT is due week...
Yup already have the deck (its a pretty cheapo one, but would look to upgrade in the future if needed. It also has in-built phono stage, so can be plugged straight into an RCA jack).
I'm not sure I would really notice the difference in stepping up nearly 220 quid for the marantz. I'm by no...
Morning!
I am looking around for a Hi-Fi setup for our spare room. Not looking at spending a busting amount (£150 max really). Had a mooch on Richer Sounds and came across this:

Anyone know if its any good? I'm...
I have the single rocker type light on my cup.
I seem to remember on my old 182 with the map light type, the interior light came on when engine was turned off and the key was removed from the ignition. To gain this function, is it simply a case of swapping out the interior light only? Or is...
Managed to get it booked in for re-test this morning! All passed and good to go.
Hate to think how much it would have cost if I wasn't able to do the work myself (the parts needed came to £300 alone (needed a new rear calliper and a few other bits also!).
Haha if only you could still get away with that!
I'm going to change the plugs then see if I can get it nice and warm before testing.
Stupid question but what causes a high CO reading?
Afternoon!
My Clio failed MOT today on emissions (amongst a few other small bits).

Cheers Tom (just don't look too closely at the bumpers/wheels!)
I'm off to Wales at the weekend, so I think I might give it another wash towards the end of the week and apply another coating of the EGP!
