the temp flying up will be caused by the belt not turning the pump! The belt has "probably" come off due to a f**ked pump
if you look at the photo you posted you can see brown spoof under the waterpump which normally means - dead
s**t happens, i had a similar thing happen on one of ours a few years ago, replaced under warranty no bother! Bit harsh to be bashing the retailer unless they've point blank told you to piss off
Yeah ali tube, with silicone joiners (or even plastic drain pipe LOL!) something a bit more rigid, the stock intake tube on a 172/182 can deform under induction and that's only a 2.0 sucking air in, not a turbo spinning at 130,000rpm!
