Yes that does sound reasonable Adam. Unfortunately for me the costs are very important on my budget lol. Reading the other thread about this it sounds really good and I hope it goes ahead I will hopefully be entering if it does :)

I'm in on this. My plan was to start racing next year. This sounds like it suits my budget :)
Now to get my race license.

Thanks for the links mate I plan on racing next year not sure what to enter. If this new clio series is cheaper than the others and has lower entry fees I'm up for it :)

Agree with Daniel. They're a good tyre for the cost but obviously not the best. I tried a set of t1rs on track on my r26r and they weren't that bad on a wet track.. Had them on other cars to.
Yeah I understand caterham and exiges might be more fun to drive for but I can't remember the last time I actually saw one driven quicker on track. I used to track my gt3 but to tell you the truth I'm faster in the megane and to not be bothered if I stack it into the barriers makes things a lot...
Well that's a load of b****cks in my opinion. Not one 'proper' track car has ever really been as quick as the r26r in the last 20 trackdays I've done in mine. The normal r26 makes such a good track car anyways you hardly need to tweek anything.
I've owned cars I could only trailer to the track...
All valid points. If the clio can get away with using the cheaper track tyres and still perform and not disappoint on track then that's awesome. Low power and low weight definitely has advantages to lol.
I think ill go with a set of R1R's for my clio in that case.
Maybe on the clio it's different. My experience comes from 100's of trackdays in the r26r and 911 which have more weight and much more power than the clio.
I hate the federal rsr so much so I took them off and binned them! They squeal like hell and the car has so much less grip compared to good track tyres. Ill stick to v70's, michelin cups and dz03g only now.
Well I got my new waxes through today so tried them all. I got auto finnesse, bouncers 22 and bouncers vanilla ice!
My favourite is the bouncers 22 wow that s**t is easy to apply and looks immense on my Monaco blue.
Re: Renewal price LOLZ (it's worth haggling)
I've got 2 cars insured with flux at the minute and let me tell you I won't be renewing they are a bunch of thieving criminals mate.
I'm using the poor boys pink wheel sealant stuff. It seems to work, I apply a few coats before trackday and it made getting the race pad brake dust off a lot easier.
I think you'd be mad in the head if you kept and cherished a ph1 because you thought one day it might be worth a few quid..there's over a 1000 on the road that's hardly rare. The clio williams isn't even regarded as much of a collectors car you can still pick them up for fuk all these days...
I can't see a ph1 172 ever becoming a collectible lol. Maybe it will become slightly more desirable than a ph2 to some people eventually but that's it.
