i have this tv but in 40 inch. its an awesome tv, i paid £550 from dixons, so £699 is a steal for the 46 inch, they have just reduced the price it was £800. the tv does say 50hz but it isnt its 60hz the only thing lacking is 100hz but im not to fussed about that as most tv's dont do 100hz good...

if you have sky plus already then going to hd the £30-£60 charge is a rip off as you only have to swap boxes as you already have the correct lnb.

definately the sony you havent even mentioned the mkv support for the LG which is all i would buy it for. Go for the sony will produce better pics aswell.

just found a fix for this off the internet if any1 else was having the same problems it will change the borders back to black rather than the new blue which i think is worse than the black "Go to settings and change the SCART 1/RF output to 4:3L and that'll get rid of the blue bars."

glad mine was updated today just in time for the football later on itv hd, only minor flaw i can see is instead of black borders i now get blue borders when my tv in exact scan mode for sd programming.

i like the sports and nature channels they show some good stuff. movies channels are obviously good. i think it depends on the package you have aswell. Have you got the full list of channels?

really thats suprising i found it amazing when it was first set up. I guess it depends on your individual set up. sad i know but dont think i could go without hd anymore!

as mentioned some are upscaled some just normal and the majority are shot in hd so are true hd.

agree tbh although, my sisters b/f is getting a projector hes going the whole way though with black out blinds and stuff to combat this problem needs to be set up properly really i reckon if ur getting a projector although i think it would be really good once set up
