Just bleed it , should be fine . You'd have been better off just cracking the bleed nipple open a bit so it was just weepeing out to push the piston back into the caliper, it would have made it alot easier .
I bought my first 172 new in Nov 2001 then bought a new 182 in Feb 2006. In this old thread from 2005 there's talk of £160 and £165. I don't ever remember if being that cheap for either of them :openmouth:

Just try bleeding as normal . It might just be air in the caliper you refitted and the brake line . You've got nothing to lose. If you do get some brake fluid through , make sure you keep topping up as you bleed.
I don't know if there are any Renault Specialists near to you ? If you take it to a Renault dealership don't bank on them finding the fault first time or ever plus they'll ass rape you for cost .
I had all those lights come on just before my alternator packed up. That's quite a comprehensive list of things you've had done , and costly . You're probably going to have to take it to a specialist Renault garage for them to check it out .
Under your accelerator pedal is for when you have your speed limiter set to on , if you depress is i.e. put your foot hard down it overrides the speed limiter.
+1 . That's all I've ever used . One man operartion . I use one of these , cut in half with some tubing in the middle to extend it . One end on the bleed nipple , the end with the rivet into an old jar with a bit of old brake fluid in . Pump the pedal half a dozen times or so , top up the brake...
I'm all for saving money . Just so long as the parts " fit" and are at least as good a quality as the oem parts . I've seen quite a few people buy none oem handbrake cables only to find that they don't fit :openmouth: so it seems like alot of faffing about when they end up having to buy genuine...
They're still available on Renaultpartsdirect. I don't know why people are pissing about , trying to save a few quid buying none oem cables to find they don't fit . Just buy genuine parts and then they know that they'll fit . The ones I bought from Renault weren't colour coded , they were both a...
Like @JB21 says . Porbably a crack in the ABS ring . I had the same symptoms and replaced it with this . You have to make sure it has 44 teeth.

Like you say . There's a fine line between it being hard to pump through if you only just crack it open to having it actually come out through the threads . When it does that I try and turn it back ever so slightly so it doesn't go all over the calipers. A bit of trial and error .
How many times have you pumped the pedal ? Is there a noticeable difference in the pedal feel when the bleed nipples open compared to when the nipple is tightened up ? I've never had this problem myself and know sod all about the abs unit other than if you do have an air lock in there then it...
Just a quick google .
This any help to you ?

Sounds like the same problem I had , was the abs ring . I got my local garage to fit one of these and it's been spot on since.

Yeah after you press expert button scroll through the options with the satellite wheel on the stalk , you'll see Bass , Treble etc ........ until it says " Loud , if yours says " on " then use the + or - on the front of the head unit to change it.
Took the car to the garage but they're pretty mowed out with work at the minute so I've left it there . He rang the place who supply the alternators and I was listening to him on the phone . They'll come and pick the alternator up when he's taken it off and they'll test it . I showed him the...
Cheers mate for the advice  Just checked after being left overnight and the voltage was 12.46 with the engine running 14.46. The battery and stop light stayed on maybe a couple of seconds longer than notmal then went out . I'll take it to the garage now and see what they say .
Cheers for the advice , its much appreciated @flebay . But I'm not gonna have 24 hours before I can check it again . I need to get it sorted asap .
I'll have to get it to the garage in the morning and see what he says . It's just pissed me off a bit that it's gone again after only 4 weeks...
Just been out and checked the battery . Bearing in mind it hasn't run since 2.30pm except for the quick try i did when I just got home and ran it for literally 30 seconds and its showing 12.49V .
Not had any battery issues since it was fitted 4 weeks ago. I just got home ( on foot ) and tried to start the car and it started ok . This afternoon when I was supposed to go and pick my g/f up I literally got a few hundred yards down the road and the battery and stop light came on , so I...
@flebay . Why would car run fine for 4 weeks then suddenly the batteries not holding a charge anymore?
@bashracing . You mean the red cable on the front of the alternator? Thats looks in good condition , no corrosion whatsoever.
You reckon I could have bad luck twice in 4 months ? The guy who...

I don't know . There's local company that reconditions them called Ellisons and they come highly rated , on my receipt it says EL1 so I'm assuming they supplied the part . Is it possible they fitted the wrong rating 75 instead of 110 amps ? Would that cause a problem ? Or maybe even the...
