I am having a right mare with my electrics atm.
Went to go up the shop and the battery is flat. Reads 12V but can't check what the voltage is underload as my housmeate isn't in. Also have to wait to bump it and try and figure out if the battery needs replacing.
But yesterday I was playing...
Flat battery :tired: need to wait a few hours until my housemate is home so I can bump start it to see if it is fubar'd.
Annoyingly it was fine yesterday. Pretty certain I didn't leave any lights on from when I was playing around with it trying to sort my fogs out.
the MPG has dropped from ~45mpg on a 90min motorway journey to just under 40mpg and then about 35mpg from 40mpg on the 30min run to work. Car seems and performs fine though so not really sure what is up with it...... Driving style hasn't changed
Ok this makes no sense. Thanks @McGerkin, that did work, swapped the clusters over and I now have a right rear fog light.
What confuses me though is why would you put the wiring in for both sides, like the terminal blocks into the back of the clusters have a connection for the left rear fogs...
Yeah, I gathered it could be used as a spare bulb holder. Not checked every fuse, just the one that corresponded to the fog lights.
Will go out after lunch and do a bit more checking then
I asked this the other week and aparently there are two rear fogs. I checked both connection blocks, not just the light clusters to see if it was the light clusters or the wiring.
As the title says, my rear fogs aren't working. I had an issue with the left one the other week where that wouldn't work despite swapping the unit for the right, seemed to be the left hand side electrics. Now they both don't work.
I have checked the fuse - fuse is working. Is it the 20amp fuse...
I grew up in the Forest then moved away for uni and a job, but back in the Gloucester area from time to time.
Thanks! Spent the last few months keeping it clean and have recently redone the black plastic trim, apart from the wiper scuttle as I have a set of wipers I need to spray black and...
That would be me! Quick stop off at my parents this weekend via the Victorian market in the Quays.
I do have the front left centre cap for the wheel, I just need to put it on as it came off the other day!
I am pretty sure I have seen on here somewhere that someone quoted their stripped out Ph1 172 with perspex windows and a cage was 860Kg. Which is good for me as it makes my power to weight ratio in my stripped out Ph1 quite a lot (well for the size of the car anyway!)
Not really sure that...
As already mentioned a Ph1 172 is a good option. That's what I have and its great fun. Plus its used as my daily drive.
If you get one with a good interior then you can sell that and make some money for other stuff.
Damn :confounded:. I thought it was, but couldn't remeber and apparently it is a common thing for their to be a space for them and not wired up, espeically on the left for a RHD car. Need to do some more investigating then
I have just used some G-techniq C4 to make all the black on the car black again. Brilliant stuff, does smarten the whole look up.
The only parts which weren't as good as the rest are the door strips. Is this because they are a blue colour and not black? They seems to be a bit grey, like a black...
This is probably a stupid question, but how many rear fog lights should I have? I cannot remember how many I had the last time I did a light check and the rear left isn't working. But I have a bulb in there. Swapped for the right bulb and then cluster and this didn't help. (the ones in the left...
Mine had this problem. it was fixed with making a new rubber bit out of Tiger Seal. Seems to have worked. Although I now have another exhasut rattle when carrying a passenger :-/
I've also got the -40mm Apex springs in mine, this was to help with ride height when it was stripped. They are a bit...
Went to look at an MG ZS before buying my Clio at a second hand car dealer (why i have no idea, it was a bit of a bargain) so I asked:
Me: "When was the head gasket done last, the millage is on 130k and they go every 70k miles"
Dealer: "A local couple had it so it should be fine"
How should...
Yeah, basically as the title says! When I brake the rear fog light indication light comes on, just flickers. Ranges from barely visible to full on, then goes off.
I thought it was an earthing issue, still think so. But went to check the earth connections and found that a brake light glass was...
FINALLY MANAGED TO DO SOMETHING TO THE CLIO THIS WEEKEND!!!
Apart from wash it, I did some trim restore on the black plastic. Brother gave me some G-Techniq C4 black trim stuff and blimey doesn't it work!! Think I am going to re-do the door trims, but the mirrors and door handles are reallly...
Wheels were left to stand for a few days after the lacquer was put on, paint was also put on quite thick (more than a tin of aerosol per wheel), but it was the bits where it was hard to get the paint which is the areas I am concerned about.
If the general consensus is it will be ok if they are...
With warm water obviously!! But as I had a reckless moment I painted my wheels bright orange (and love them!) but they don't half get dirty, especially the fronts from the brake dust. As they were painted professionally (by me with aerosol cans in my garden!) I am sure they are prone to wearing...

Put more touch up coats on the rear bumper. Need to get that drilled and then put on the car
Still waiting for a good spell in the weather so I can use the G Techniq C4 stuff my brother kindly got for my birthday!!
TBH a good clean and polish makes a world of difference. The guy who had my Clio before me looked like he never clenaed it. After washing it weekly over the summer (I should have started sooner!) and a polish once in a while with a good waxing does help improve the overal look. This will just be...
Ever since my brother pointed this fact out, I have never seen one without tape on the bumper!!
Alpina B7....why?
Some people must have left their brains at home the day the got rid of their cars.
Need to get a tin of paint to do some touch up on my bumper and did a search of what paint code my car is (Ph1 172 in Titanium) and the forum says MV647. Went to double check this on the car to make sure so I don't end up with a blue paint knowing my luck! It doesn't exactly say "Paint Code...
