IIRC, insurance and motor factors take the car details direct from the DVLA database, so if its on your logbook as an Exclusive, then that's the data they will pick up.
172 Exclusives only came in Scarab Green and have cream leather interior.
They are all numbered aswell, 500 in total IIRC.

If you are applying to start in first year then I wouldn't worry about it too much since they will generally start from scratch anyway.
Find out what programming languages they teach and maybe try and familiarize yourself with them first.

Most cars after 2000ish run on the OBD2 standard for engine management related issues.
Basically any OBD2 reader will be able to read your fault codes and clear the system but there are better ones that can do a lot more such as Airbag and ABS issues aswell.
