I think you're right! but thats if he's changing the entire hub? Do ya reckon he should do both if he's just changing the bearings?
I know he's on about the whole thing, just curious :)
I've actually had the water pump changed for a brand new one at the end of feb along with the belts, naturally.
it was happening before that too so..
Could it still be the case?
Sorry for then many replies! First thing I'm doing tomorrow is taking the air filter off and having a look at the thermostat.
I haven't had it off yet so no idea what to expect.
What size mm socket would I need for it? 10?
Just read this on a site after being a google nerd for a while.
''Defective or missing thermostat that allows the engine to run too cool. Maintaining the correct engine operating temperature (usually 200 to 220 degrees F.) is essential not only for good heater output but also for good fuel...
Are you sure this already has the bearing pressed in?
If it does, it it should be ok to put on as just the one, no need to put two on. providing it's the correct one.
Am I correct in thinking the termostat which takes takes the temp for the needle is encased somewhere where it allows the coolant to run around/through it to take the temps?
Could it be that this is busted.. and has a duff seal an maybe trickling out tiny bits at a time while it's hot and under...
Back to the work horse! So I've had my car since September '12. It's a 2002 1.2 16v. It's had a few teething issues but I got it for £750 so I knew what I was buying into.
The first thing I had done was the fan belt and after the water pump was breaking up (sounded like the bearings had...

The bearing on mine is completely shagged.. And I got quoted 60 quid along with getting my tracking/alignment done as well.. I think anything over the 100 mark mark might be a bit much?
I've also looked into doing this myself but I've heard off a couple f mates that you would need a pneumatic...
Mines got the same mate. Car will run normal. Temp will go upto half way as normal then just drop Down to bar 2 or 3 pretty quickly then just pick up slowly again, but it'll never get back to half way point.
My heating also doeant work... f**k it was a cold winter :( still is!
My water pump...
Looks fantastic mate... Your new TCE not the one plonked on it's head :( how did it happen?
Get all sorts of pics up mate, the 1.2 TCE is what I want next.
How's the boost? Does it sound nice? Haha.. Nothing I bet on a 1.2 but I bet you can still feel and hear it?
How's the mpg?
