Apex = completely and utterly terrible ride. How anyone can drive a car on anything but a prefectly smooth surface with them is beyond me, they are awful! The car does however look nice when lowered with them.
Sportlines = firm, but acceptable ride. They don't lower as much as the Apex but the...
Me in my Cup (Mondial blue btw, but it was dark).
Not too sure what we did to warrant the main beams from those two trucks, but never mind.
Your ph1 looked nice, and wasn't hanging about! :approve:
As mentioned earlier, I had by carbon splitter repaired after cracking it in two places, thanks to a pheasant.
The cracks had new carbon laid up over them, and then it was all cured again on a low temp cure. After that it was lacquered, and looks good as new now.
Only thing to watch is if it...
Got 15" Spec 2s on my Cup and they are very good in the dry and reasonable in the wet (not great with lots of standing water though).
Wouldn't touch the T1-R with a barge pole. One of the worst tyres I've come across (IMO).
Worth having a look at http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=384617
Although the discussions centred around 16" tyres, there's a lot of sites linked that may be worth looking at, and plenty of useful opinions on different tyres.
As for buying Toyo's, it's worth exhausting all other...
Why not go for the Eagle F1?
Available from here http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s344p9476 for £72.95 each delivered, so £291.80 for four.
If you say a tyre place is going to charge £30 for fitting all four, then you're looking at £320 all in.
Only £50 more than the Toyos...
No Wetherspoons in Thetford as far as I know, and I doubt there'd be too many of us who would want to leave our cars in the centre of Thetford!
The pub we went to before is a possibility, but not sure what the food is like.
How about another suggestion; the Angel Inn off the A11 (on the old...
Think it was in the region of £50 but can't remember exactly. It was a bloody big dent tho (Andy will testify to that) and he did a great job taking it out!
As Andy said, the guy up at Inchcape gets my vote.
His details haven't changed from the last time I posted them in http://cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=347959
Give him a ring.
Yep, new (well second hand) throttle body sorted it out.
Engine no longer cuts out at idle, and the idle is far more settled.
Thanks to those who suggested the throttle body!
My 172 Cup was left standing in a garage for a few days while I was away on business, and when I came to drive it yesterday, the engine kept stalling.
When the engine revs were left to drop to idle (ie. Dipping the clutch to come to a standstill) they would momentarily drop to 0 and the engine...
I just bought new discs and bearings for the rear of my 172 Cup.
Have opened up the bearings and just want to check which way they go in.
At the moment the bearings have what appears to be a protective plastic ring on one side of them, which is protecting a protruding rubber seal on the...

Sorted out a major dent in my driver's door and did a fantastic job. Based in/around Norwich, and I would definitely recommend him.
It will be a requirement from 2012 for all EU cars to be fitted with TPMS. It has been law in the USA since September 2007.
Not really. Direct systems just involve swapping the sensors to the new wheels, or buying a new set of sensors. As the USA has required this for approximately a year...
Eagle F1s every day of the week for me. Have been running them on my Cup from the day I got it.
Wouldn't touch Toyos (T1-R or T1-S) as there are much better tyres out there.
The Prolines don't provide as much of a drop as the Sportlines, but are meant to handle better.
I went for the Sportlines as I think the drop they provides looks good, and I have no complaints about the ride or handling.
My car is driven on a wide mixture of road surfaces (including the...
Had them on my Cup when I bought it and they were unbelievably bad. The ride was awful, and the car did not feel at all settled unless the road was perfectly smooth.
Replaced them with Eibach Sportlines, and the car was transformed.
As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't touch them with a barge...
My 172 has developed a very annoying knocking/vibration under acceleration.
It is particularly noticeable when reaching 5k rpm in 3rd and 4th gear, or when accelerating heavily from a standing start.
It also seems to be more evident when accelerating out of a right hand corner.
When the...
You will still need to re-inflate them as air/nitrogen will still leak out of them. Apparently it just leaks a bit slower (assuming air only leaks out through the carcass, and there's no loss through the valve!), but I imagine most people would be hard pushed to notice the difference.
When...
