Don't think anyone knows the exact sort of figure. I reckon they could hold 275bhp of daily constant use. The revs will hurt them more.
Im pushing 250bhp / 240ft lb without issue, as are many other boosted people. 7200rpm limiter.
First once i did a fast change from 2nd to 3rd and then couldnt change after that, had constant clutch drag, one of the steel springs on the pressure plate snapped meaning clutch was always engaged even when the clutch was pressed.
Second time was another fast change and it absolutely exploded...
No fail safe otherwise every time you take a hard corner the car would cut power for a moment. Only way you'd lose power is through the friction of your bearings grinding against the crankshaft but that wouldn't last long till you at the side of the road with a seized engine!
The bottom point may snap and stay attached to the dash car us you the. Have to a snap it off glue it to the piece of trim and then glue the Trianon. It's sounds more complicated than it is but when you do it you will see what I mean
I damaged that exact same panel.
Grab that panel at the bottom and pull hard, the panel will snap off from the main dashboard 'carcus' (with relative ease) , it will break clean at the plastic weld points. Do the same on a donor car, apply some strong adhesive to the contact points and put new...
My routing is far from ideal (i compromised by keeping the battery in the engine bay), it's made no difference to power, and no difference to lag. If it fits then leave it :)
Yeah absolute t**t of a job, had to remove the turbo from the car. Going to weld up a bracket / link to brace the downpipe to the engine block to stop it flexing against the downpipe/trubo join (thanks sidewaysdanny for suggestion :))
Cant say my coil pack has ever tried to work loose wtf?? Or that the breather wants to burn holes in my silocne hoses, perhaps dont install its so its touching? :coffee:
No, it applies in store aswell just quote them your CS membership number, only applies to parts and not labour, and for parts that arent currently on offer.
Throttle control is key, mine tends to light up 2nd gear alot, just modulate the throttle a bit and your fine though, 3rd onwards isnt an issue.
I've only really had a dabble with an E39 M5, he was ahead already, it was wet, uphill and split by roundabouts, he was HAMMERING it lol, i was still...
Not sure, i just gave them to the machine shop when the honed my block, so long ago i cant remember :(
However foxy used the same rings, and all his ring end clearances checked out without any filing.
Genuine question to reputable specialists... everyone says the water pump is easy to change while doing the cambelt. Do you have special stuff to remove the concrete setting original paper gasket that welds itself to the block? I spent the past part of an hour last time sanding the surface flat...
