Youv'e lost me a little there mate? what do you mean come with a service? a general oil etc service
I rang birchdown in cheshire who are a performance renault specialist and he told me total cost for a full cambelt kit which includes all rollers and tensioners etc and auxilery belt fitted...
No worries gally we all kinda know what we mean in our own little way oh except the cup owners that is lol all i know is got mine re-gassed for £40 and its now great again=bargain :D
Cambelt and auxilery belt done at renault specialist £435 place is called birchdown check them out on google etc.
id buy that mate if its tidy obviously as its easily worth over 4k with a quick service and belts done so say it costs you £3100 altogether then easily sell for £4200-£4500 easily...
just looked at figures online and i always thought the v6 was the dogs danglys but only hals a second quicker to 60 than a 172 cup and a worse top speed than my previous mk5 golf gti in my oppinion is preety poor considering the engine is 50% bigger than the 172/182 then theres the topgear power...
still wouldnd get me paying £500 for rear brakes v6 or not its still a clio ok they look great but hardly known for there great handling or being the quickest in there class etc as said should have gone 2.0 cup or similar:eek:
Sorry i shouldnt laugh but 30 bhp on the rolling road just the thought of the operator giving you the print out is making me cry with laughter,
Oh well you may have some probs at moment but you would have made a few guys smile with those figures i bet lol atleast you getting it sorted though...
Yes agree with you there russ about not needing it servicing every 2 years thats just a money making scheme lol but the idea that someone thinks the gas and oil levels wont drop after 5,6, or 7 years unless its leaking is :clown:
Hmmmm leather feed ey think il have to look into getting something like this to try stop them cracking and keep them supple etc ebay here i come lol :approve:
hi all just wandering as i have recently bought a 2002 ph2 172 with 44k on clock and seats are still immaculate apart from a tiny bit of barely noticable wear on drivers bolster, They seem really hard wearing compared to my ctr and even my mk5 golf gti.
Just wandering how they fare up when...
Sorry mate completely disagree with you on that one the gas and pressure reduces by around 10% a year as already stated and my mate runs a mobile air con service business and have discussed this with him many times,
I bought my 2002 172 last month and noticed aircon wasnt to clever so took it...
Just whip it off and weld a sheet round it, will only take half hour if you have a friend good at welding etc atleast that be a more permenent fix until mot time anyway matey:approve:
If its just before payday etc yeah id use credit card, if not il use own cash depends what point of the month it happens really as get paid on 1st either way i certainly wouldnt drive round with jubilee clips and tie wraps holding my exhaust on lol
Ive never heard of the penalty being any more than £60 and 3 points mate, surely thats what fixed penalty notice means (FIXED):banghead: lol loads of people i know have been done for this and all got 3 points and £60 fine
yeah suppose so but imo if we own cars like these we should have a few quid put to one side for all eventualies lol mine is the old emergency interest free credit card hidden away in back of wallet purely for future car probs, hope i never need it lol
Obviously because it must have been low so he got it re gassed to get most benefit from using it surely just like i did last week lol :banghead:
Oh and where is this emergency cut off switch you talk about? just for future reference really lol
To be honest mate i wouldnt drive that anywhere without a replacement even with a patch up bandage as they shite anyway my advice would be to replace it, find the cash from somewhere beg steal or borrow lol if that snaps on the bypass at 80mph you will no about it lol
tesco 99 for me nothing more nothing less lol it even states min 97 ron inside the filler cap flap so why would you use 95 ron EVER
I love my car's and spend a fortune on maintaining them etc so why use shite fuel for sake of 3p a litre oh look there goes another moth out your wallets haha
just tried this and works spot on it saying i have 23 litres left in tank which sounds about right as its nearly half a tank at mo.
That little trick is mad it makes all dials etc go crazy ie speedo hits 160mph etc lol cheers again all:approve::star:
I used a strap lever thingy to remove my filter, was preety tight but got it in end and if that fails its either a screwdriver or find someone bigger to undo it by hand lol
cheers lads, sounds like im not allowing it to get low enough then lol just going off previous cars gauges i suppose, i wont really be allowing it to hit reserve light anyway but just nice to know its working incase i get caught out sometime really, Must say aswell since buying the 172 a few...
