spring, disc, bearing, rubber cup, metal piece that slots into rubber, car, top mount.
There were 2 black spacers that came with the coilovers, should they have been fitted?
I fitted my KW Ultimate coilies a few days ago and ever since when I steer to the right the o/s top mount is creaking like mad, I got my missus to sit in the car while she turned the steering wheel and when looking at the top mount it seems to be too tight???
The rubber is warped as if it is on...
The noise is definetely the o/s top mount, the n/s one is fine but the o/s is juddering and making a clunk when turning :(
Could it be too tight? It does feel extremely tight :(
Cheers
Liam
Fitted the front and the rear springs but no shocks on the back yet, hopefully this should be sorted next week.
I now have a bit of a concern, when I'm turning there is noise coming from the front right, literally sounds like it is about to fall to pieces, I'm thinking it's the top mount. Can...
It's really easy mate, it does take a little while though.
If you take it to a mechanic it should take no more than 2 hours, especially if he's using an airgun.
I took my car to my father in law's garage yesterday and fitted my coilies in less than 2 hours.
Think the car is coming along brilliantly matey! I'd love to be able to go euro on a golf/bora, can't even go low though with the speedbumps round my way. They're like a mountain :(
I've had two of mine done this week, a 20 tonne press had to be used to extract the old bearings and insert the new ones :(
I got them done for £100 for both front n/s and rear o/s which I think is fantastic tbh.
I bought a coilover kit from a lad off here the other week, came to a few problems including needing the wheels spaced. I have the cup alloys on so I assume 10mm spacers will be ok, can anyone confirm this?
Main problem - I have some GAZ rear springs with the shocks from the coilover kit...
Looks much better mate, however to echo what Saner said the images changing is too much of a distraction from the rest of the page.
I nice dissolving feature would be more appropriate tbh :)
Needed somewhere closer than DT tbh, I've got my car booked in the garage tomorrow morning for a new bearing and I need to be able to get the wheels spaced so I can drive it to the place :(
I know that u-nuts are used to go around the arch liner and a torx screw through the middle, should be able to use pliers to get them out.
One of the u-nuts is fcuked on mine, I'm gonna have to cut it off cos its bent and the screw is stuck lol!
Just ordered a complete new set from Renault tho.
