My gearbox did the same as yours, fill it up and it pisses out until of the selector until its happy with the 1.5 litres left. Cant decide whether to keep topping up or let it go bang
Great project, I've been doing similar rust treatment around the sills and filler area with my flame red. Be careful with rust tracking under the underseal behind the filler, mine looked superficial until I stripped the the underseal back to find it went further than I initially thought. I deox...
When I fitted my cup spoiler the one red clip broke but I think they just said alignment, no foam pads on mine either which means the holes in the boot lid are exposed. Hopefully this doesnt mean I will get water ingress
Christ I remember replacing a clutch cable on my Valver, first time i didn't have the foresight to use the old one to pull the new cable through. That was a nasty copy part which failed pretty quick so I fitted the new genuine cable much more easily. Still a bugger though.
Totally mind boggling attention to detail! I want to take my beam off to remove some bubbling around the mounting points to the shell, why the hell did Renault use round headed captive bolts?! Hope the rust hasn't crept under the mounts too much
Fair enough, have they cracked or developed flat spots from standing so long? Big 4 0 next year then, I often wonder how many on here are my age or older
I'd like to lose the standard bus steering wheel for a 330mm, I quite like the RS sabelt or sparco but not sure the suede will stand up to my usage. Not keen on the idea of a polyurethane one really although the OMP GP looks ok, any other recommendations?
Always thought this too, they weren't limited colours as far as I'm aware, just less popular with the punters.
Also what I enjoy more is driving my 172 not looking at it, the more miles on it the better value for money I've had.
I must have got lucky every time I've changed them, spanner on, good smack with a big hammer, job done! Plugging the plug in is probably the awkwardness part on the floor
