they did make the ph2 in iceburg, but i think it might only be the more recent ones. Theres one here...

personally i'd go for ultraleggras, purely because turinis just look like they come as standard on all 172s nowadays, and they're a bit different. Look stunning also.
You'll be spending 70 or 80 quid to get it sprayed in materials if your starting with nothing. You'll need high build primer, a tin of colour (maybe 2), a couple of tins of laquer, a range of different sand papers, and really to get a good enough finish you'll need a polisher of some sort. Also...
student bums eh ;)
looks good, not a fan of twin exhausts myself, but i'm all for doing something a bit different. Just make sure if you have one fitted that its straight, theres nothing worse than a wonky twin exhaust
because shes a girl who cant cope with a real car *runs and hides*
ah he had big plans for that car as well, didnt think i'd seen him on here for a while
just out of interest i posted a link in the ebay section, theres a nice looking ph1 172 on ebay at the mo 2.5k buy it now looks in good nick and the owner doesnt sound like a r****d like some on there...
only way to know for certain is look at the paint codes. Halfords dont stock all renault colours on the shelf, so may need to custom mix it. post a pic up, as the pic in the avatar is too small
how was I wrong?! the cup is a ph2 172!
I have no idea why your getting so defensive about it, as said millions of times its personal preference, both cars have their plus points. you chose a ph2 for your reasons, I chose a ph1 for mine, end of
no, but you did say there were only 3000 ph2 172s, and imo that includes cups as they look the same to the untrained eye.
If you speak to someone like fred who has driven both on numerous occasions, the suspension on the ph1 172 is spot on compared to the ph2. Mine actually drove as well on...

Looks like its in really nice nick, and 2.5k is a bargain imo. Highish mileage but looks in excellent condition.
Exactly :)
As said upto you really, but i've not regretted my decision, had no real issues with it despite it being an older car, which was my initial concern
ok fair enough, still 5500 172 ph2s INCLUDING cups, not 3000 like you said.
Think the only people who can really comment are those who've owned both like fubar. End of the day we all chose our cars for our own reasons, and i'm happy with mine.
4500 without cups

As said its all personal preference really.
1300 compared to the 7000 ph2s there are. Thats without 182s which look almost the same.
So in comparison, yes they are rare. You must just be lucky. To be honest mate, sounds like your the one constantly defending your purchase....
i was in the same situation as you last year, and opted for the ph1. I love the rarity value of them, I barely see any others on the road. Also spoken to a few people who have owned both, and say the 172 ph1 is a much more raw and sporty drive. I didnt like the rear much on mine, so i changed...
