Ok just got back from Ktec after a very long day(5 am start) I think I will let the results speak for themselves
18.5 bhp gain
15 ft/lb gain(I think that's about right from looking at the graph/I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong)
Andy and ktec have done a great job on my car,big...
It seems strange to me that a tuning company like ktec would release a set of cams that are exactly like ones they already sell, considering that these new cams were produced by cat cams also seems strange that they would also do this,if they were not different. Will be interesting to see what...
I will get some vids of idling tomorrow, from what Andy at ktec has told me the cams are very smooth,no lumpyness with a very smooth idle,we shall see.If my car see's between 13-18 bhp and a nice torque gain,I will be very happy.
I have ktec mounts also, great bit of kit, looks great and good handling upgrade,as said turn in is sharper with much more driver feedback.I think if the car is mainly a road few track day's a year car then ktec mounts are fine,if it was more track then road then I would go AST or Mark Fish,not...
What you want is a Yozza race system with a sports cat, awesome sound just right and its not boomy at all on the motorway. That's what I have(182)would think it would sound the same on a 172,had a decat for 8 months or so but it had to go in the end, sounded awesome but not everyday lol and on a...
I think if everyone who is after a hot hatch went for a spin in a 1*2 I think prices would rise, hands down best hot hatch out there,as for them being unreliable, buy a good one and look after it and you shouldn't have to many issues.
Just spoke to ktec and the will be having the cams fitted on Monday, will be interesting to see what my car makes on there roller's(compared to TDF 179.6 bhp 159 ft/lbs) before the cams go in.Going to have to leave my house at 4 30 am to get there for 8 30
Going to have these cams fitted at ktec in the next few weeks, when I spoke to Andy I said there dyno seemed to read quite low and he agreed,my car has a TDF custom map and makes 179.6 hp 159 ft/lbs on there dyno,so it will be interesting to see what it makes on ktecs dyno before the cams go...
The decat will be very loud,as for the silenced one if you can get it at the right money then I would give it a go,I think a few people have tried to use them but you would have to talk to one of them to know if they work or not.
The brace works well but the whiteline transforms the cars handling, put it on when I still had the sportlines on and it made a big difference, more so than the H&R's,but with the whole package at the moment the car is on rails.
Thanks for the comments
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Ollie, get the car mapped as is and then you will know were you stand power wise and how the car feels, seems to me from reading your thread that you at very happy with your car at the moment and mapping is only going to make it better.Don't get...
Keep it going mate, you will only look back and wish you had finished, esp with all the hard work that's gone in to it so far.Looks great by the way,my brother had a new tungsten r5 when they first came out, used to drive it all the time, awesome cars.
Decided against supercharging at the moment,I decided to sort out the handling and a few other bits listed below
H&R Coilovers
Whiteline arb
Ktec solid topmounts
Prima racing exhaust mounts
Ktec sports cat
Powerflex bush's front arb and wishbones
Oreca Wheel and boss
Carbon dash and gear knob...
just fitted a ktr sports cat to my yozza and it sounds just right, you do get a bit of noise from the cat but it is a nice hard to explain noise lol, decat is nice but after 8 months it can do your head in a bit, think you may find it a bit to loud with the silenced decat,I don't think they work...
Just spoke to ktec about these, they have done 5 cars with gains from 16-18 bhp, also said they are similar to 421 cams so will work well with standalone ITB's ect, think I may have to get some;)
I have a Yozza decat and they are loud, but also sound awesome, the best thing to do is to decat it,if you like it cool,if you don't put the cat back on,as for gains, nothing to be had unless you have a collapsed cat,the decat will help a bit if the car is custom mapped.
You don't want to go more than -1 on the fronts if you are using it a lot on the road, standard rear set up is fine.If it is just for track then see above.
