i had a shot of my pals one of these and they handle great but i never thought it was good in a straight line and think if i had been turboed it would have been superb
standard it feels slower than 6.9 to 60
my old clio cup 172 would have left it and a pals nurburgring corsa vxr thrashed it...
correct tyre pressures for 195/45 16 and why does the clio cup 172 come up as having 15inch alloys when i search for correct tyre pressures when cups have 16inch turinis
i did a quote and cheapest i got was £250 fully comp with 8yrs no claims 2 days ago, i did another quote last night fully comp with 9 yrs no claims and cheapest i can get now is £380 so i cant understand why in 2 days with same details and an extra years no claims its jumped up
iv shopped...
i like the 172 cup as its underrated, track focused, quick, quite rare, and a possible classic in years to come, since iv bought it my other cars hardly been used, only issue is its a 4 seater
whats peoples reasons for owning there clio over other makes of cars just wondered as theres obv a few enthusiasts out there that like them what type of clio do you have and why?
yea my mates vxr had the remus n just loved the mild pop you get on boost and the focus was a nice little pop when it slowed down i would like my cup to pop the same way
id like it to look lowish so the wheels are snug in the arches not euro low where its on the floor but to handle well without being skittish and all over the place
think il just go for a decat pipe and see how it goes tbh as iv watched a few vids and alot of the pops and bangs are abit to xtreme for me, i was just wanting a nice mild pop like the focus rs does every once in a while when slowing down not constant loud back firing type pops if you know what...
as above
want to lower car but whats lowest you can go without encountering problems or ruining handling drivability etc
cars a 172 cup on 16inch turinis
may sound immature lol but my pals focus rs and corsa vxr both pop now and again mostly in 2nd gear when slowing down, and sound great, is it because they are turbo,d or can i do anything to get my cup 172 to pop a little bit aswell and what would i need to do?
iv seen a ktr induction kit i like on the ktec website for £160, is this kit any good?
iv got a decat pipe ordered
I seen fast road cams on prima racing site for £295 any ideas of how good?
what is matched inlets and is that worth doing ?
yea i guess as being 10yr old its not brand new and a fair figure giving the mileage but makes me wonder if a standard 182 would be around 172 on the rollers :)
apart from the leak in exhaust it ran fairly well, the filter could do with being uprated so im thinking off putting on a better intake and filter a decat pipe and full system and a remap possibly and maybe see about uprated inlets but dont know much about tuning or what the uprated inlets do...
was not mate :) aha, guy said its very rare to get 172 unless its been tuned to be honest, remap, decat etc but to be fair for having 160 bhp its still quick enough
well its called a 172 but unfortunatly fell short my first run was 156.9 bhp max power at 7165rpm and 109.9mph
The cars cat was stinking and guy said it was clear the car hadnt been opened up fully for a long time
the next run was 161.8 bhp at 109.6mph and 7175rpm
i was disheartned however...
i think alot of folk are confusing partworn to remoulds and being dodgy tyres, when in fact alot of partworn tyres are brand names, in germany etc europe the tyre tread depth is legally higher than the 1.6mm in the uk so they get shipped over here as partworn however your practically getting a...
Firstly i had a puncture and was not repairable so had to get a tyre and it was a partworn hankook tyre and guy said all his tyres come from europe as laws diffrent for tread depth, so tyres legal for over here in uk and at 20 quid rather than 80 odd for one tyre was ok just strange with car...
Got a tyre fitted earlier today just a partworn however the car now veers to the right and need to force it left to keep it straight, also vibration through steering wheel at 70, im hoping it just needs the wheel alignment looked at as its very skittish now and all over the place
anyone...
Ok thanks guys will take it a standard 172 cup is around 6.6 secs to 60, which is rapid enough to beat most standard hothatches out there so happy with that lol
