I recall seeing some panels which had the switch for headlight levels where the ESP/Cruise Control/Dash brightness buttons are. Would putting a headlight level dial be possible? Depends if the wiring is in there or not for cars with Xenon headlights, and whether it would work anyway.
If you really wanted to, you could take the discs off again, clean up some of that corrosion, then use something like hammerite on those bits, then when you go for a drive, the pads will rub off any excess paint. That usually does a nice enough job.
