Yeah well I have eibach springs and cup dampers now but I feel it roll about when going for it.
Plus I have the facility's to get corner weighted and that so coilovers would be the way to go.
The site for the Billy's looks beyond difficult to navigate in another language lol.
Is there...
I'm no stranger to coilovers and suspension, but would like to know people's opinions on there set ups and longevity.
I have a 172 cup 53 plate and il be doing a complete suspension refresh with bushes, arb bushes, ball joints etc etc....
Possible solid top mounts depending on the suspension...
Mate that's a kick in the c unt.
All about rebuilding this one mate, a good engine on the bay is like £300-£350 with history, yours would be rebuilt and higher speced and that money can you get decent rebuild items I imagine mate.
Been collecting and doing a few more essential items to the Clio.
Bought a safety devices cage.
Removed the fog lights and fitted ducting to cold air feed.
Removed plate and added more ventilation.
Removed and sprayed my grill black satin.
Added a sunstrip with decals.
Added a new front stick...
I'm a painter by trade and wouldn't mind jazzing up my Clio track/road car.
It's mondial blue atm and is fully stripped/caged so was wondering if there's a few pics of some you like that I could copy and adapt to what I like.
I'm thinking baby blue front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and...
Finished up the rest of the blue today and will do the roof black when I get some more paint. Ran out last week and forgot to get some more.
Makes the inside a much nicer place.
Cleaned out all my airbox and throttle body aswell as removing the acoustic valve and fog lights ready to fit my...
Received my brakes today, opted for brembo standard rears and brembo pads with spacers, new nuts and uprated fluid so will get that done soon.
Also received my decat pipe, it's a brand new group N spec one so I sand blasted the ends and painted them up today and polished the stainless steel...
It's fabric rape mate, helps to keep the noise down when f**king away all the wires and that. Looks better than normal black insulating tape aswell.
Around £5 on eBay I think mate.
Few more tidying up jobs and securing the airbag loom out the way aswel as starting to strip the door cards down and possibly loose the speakers and head unit. Aswell as the steering wheel controls, how do they come off?
Got some stickers for my bases and it looks so much better. Grip tape next...
Where's best to buy the sealer and everything needed to change it so it doesn't smoke when running? It's leaking a fair amount so want it fixed.
Is there a how to anywhere and do you really need to lock the cams off as il be doing it myself and a few mechanics to help.
Any advice would be...
Did my interior at the weekend and sprayed it all up, satin blacked my inner quarters as well. Looks so much better. Roof and front doors next.
Looks so much better.
There's no front spoilers that fit on mate, it would have to a custom fit one like a seat Leon cupra R one.
Or like a carbon mods one all flat and held in place underneath.
There's a few thick black plastic ones like extensions on eBay.
Indicator bulbs are really easy mate ha.
I had to cut my wiper arm spindle as the blade was seized solid, and you have to drill the rivets off the inside but it's all easy stuff.
It would be white 100% mate, freshens up the side so much, my black 200 looked mean once done.
De-tango the front lights with silvertec indicator bulbs is...
Car looks spot on mate.
As for the box if you're not happy then have it looked over, a quaife would be and amazing upgrade even off the track and as you're spending big money anyways why not add a few more penny's into the mix.
Or save that money for something else that you've had on your...
Looks really nice mate. Lowering that much shouldn't give you any troubles at all.
I think the black badges look lost, I think adding a white piece in the middle will make it stand out a lot more you know. Perhaps cut a piece of vinyl or have a diamond made up and spray it white then glue that...
Cheers fellas, it's a must for me anyways being a painter, opted for a satin finish as I thought the glare from the gloss may be a tad much.
Finalised the seat positioning today so will cut the mount up on the gearstick side and relocate that bar back so I can go forward around two inches is...
Drove to gatewick today to get my seat, came off a Clio but unfortunately the other guy was 6ft plus so il have to move the frame forward a fair amount but should be fine once done.
Also sprayed the interior satin blue same as the outside colour I had a can made up. I can provide these cans if...
Don't fancy chucking the whole interior in my Audi A8 as a replacement rear bench or boot lining is more than I dare say for the A8 haha.
If you want change I will cut you, just saying lol.
Saves me a trip to the skip indeed fellas
Couldn't care less I need them gone as its a track car now so enjoy it mate. Need it gone asap and if it helps someone else out then it's good karma for me .
Mother is doing my head in about them!!!!
Phase 1 seats yeah, was started low to get rid off.
Well I've made some progress recently with the Clio.
Mainly been ripping out everything I don't need but I need some advice regards the airbag wiring? Can I just cut it off or will that end badly, I've wrapped it up out the way and il be making a plate for the Ecu/diagnostics port and 12v so I...
Cracking job mate. Looks spot on.
Regards the rear wiring tidy up, how you hide it all, just unplug and move it all?
Do you have to pull the boot wiring through and that?
And the gearbox surround and parts there, how easy was that to tidy up?
From looking at her though it's mint apart from the repair to the front bumper, just the center part has been painted poorly so damage probably wasn't that far spread. Will soon find out but cat d is only panel damage.
I work on cars all day long in the body shop department so it doesn't bother me after researching some more into the damage. Nearly all cars like this at this age will get cat d as there's too much to repair for the money.
It will be a cat c by the time I'm done with it on track haha...
