Am I missing something here?
Have just bought a pair of Seagate 7200.12 series 500Gb drives, planning to run in RAID 0 on my Dell XPS420. They are replacing a pair of Western Digital Blue 250Gb's that has had a failure on one of the drives.
However, when I run the PC up (not installed OS...
I'm about to have the same problem. My PC Hard drive died yesterday, so am going to have to rebuild it. Not quite sure what will happen when i try and sync. Might just not bother.
Re: 3G ios 4 update, WTF?
My 3GS runs generally ok, some slight lag on a couple of things, but nothing to get exited about, apart from...........
When you're in a call, say 10 mins in, it falls over. Back to black screen with apple logo in the centre. It's done it to me 3 times this week so...
Yeah I don't think it's the best for picking up good signal. I get less signal on my iPhone compared to my works phone on the same network, and also compared to my old Nokia.
AndyRS, that's the page i was looking for. TBH, not bothered about being about to sync to my laptop, just need laptop to be running itunes as it needs to be installed to allow tethering to work. Also, might be handy to be able to load some stuff from the laptop.
There was a thread on here a while back detailing how to use 1 iPhone with 2 separate itunes installations.
Seem to remember there being a link detailing how to modify some settings in a HEX editor so that it both installations would work.
Was sure i bookmarked it, but haven't. Also, did a...
Has anyone got any problems with the youtube iPhone app when running on Vodafone 3G??
It used to work fine, and still does when my phone is connected to me home wireless. However, on 3G i get a "this video format is not supported" 9or something like that) error.
Any ideas?
Mine has recently done exactly the same.
However, I think it is the result of an account hack - as all of my hotmail contacts have gone. Before they were deleted, they were all sent an email with a link for cheap/free iPhones.
My Hotmail account doesn't receive all of the emails that are...
Mike_182, LOL, name sounded so daft, it had to work!!
Downloaded and sure works on my machine, just hope it does on his, as his is full of virus - hence the reinstall!
Anyone know if it's possible to get Windows XP to tell you what it's serial number is??
Got to do a re-install for a friend i think, and he doesn't have the serial number recorded anywhere! It's worn off the bottom of the laptop somehow.
Yup, figured it out. I was just starting comand prompt using "cmd" from run, rather than going right through start menu.
It's in progress now, hopefully all going nicely!
Cheers
hmm, if i can convert without losing anything, that would be very good. Just cos it would make it a whole load easier!
Jacko, tried that from command window and got the following: Accesses denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. you have to invoke this utility in elevated mode.
Can't...
Yeah looks like I may have to go that route. In fairness, most of the stuff has only recently been copied off of my main machine, so not the end of the world.
Darren - yeah, admin rights etc all no problem. Looks like it is an issue as I said above, can't be done with FAT32 drives, which is a bit of a bugger! Need to find out if this is a Windows limitation (i.e can partition magic/Acronis do it) or if it is universal for FAT32.
OK, i'm with you up to "shrink volume" as that option is greyed out........
Edit: looking in the help file, seems shrinking isn't an option unless the volume is already NTFS!!
I have a 1TB External drive that I use for backups etc.
There is currently about 350Gb of stuff on it.
However, have just come across an annoying issue where by it is formatted in FAT32 and hence can only take up to 4Gb single file size - and I want to put a file that is about 6Gb on...
Tried that, but makes no difference. Also tried deleting the contacts folder and re-starting. However, it wouldn't log in then!
I think when you just re-install, it still uses the original contacts folder. So I possibly need to try the un install, delete contacts and then re-install.
I think I must have corrupted my contacts file somehow, but does any one have any suggestion to fixing it.
If I try to add a contact from my desktop machine, i just get a message saying that "Windows live service is not available now" and that i have added the contact, but they will be...
I'm sure I must be missing something, and i'm sure it must be something fairly simple!!
I have a desktop PC, running Windows Vista that is cabled to a Sky Router. Laptop also running Vista on wireless.
Am trying to get laptop to be able to access files that are stored in "my" area on the...
