I have an older series of the Shures (similar design), the build quality is superb the noise cancellation is amazing even at very low volumes, the bass really thumps your brain on max volume. The cancellation is actually so good they used to do an add on kit to put a mic inline with the...
The Puma I bought a few weeks ago flagged up with an NMR discrepency but it fell in the middle of the records and the car had a full history, all MOTs, bills etc to back it up and it was a big jump in an 8 month period. The car definitley hadn't done the 50,000+ miles extra going by the...
I tried a couple of the companies on ebay selling driveshafts for the 1*2. I got refunded after a few days from one of them as they were not actually in production and the other sent me one that didn't fit (wrong number of splines for a 1*2 hub) so that got sent back and again they said they...
A bearing in the driveshaft (gearbox end) fell to bits and when I went to remove the remnants from the gearbox shaft it wouldn't budge. I've tried heat on it, penetrating oil, shocking it with a mallet, hasn't budged. I'm guessing the teeth are mangled together, hoping not, but can't figure out...
WDTV Live hub 1GB? That's what I have, plays anything you throw at it, a bit more than 30 notes though. http://www.ebuyer.com/244502-wd-tv-live-hub-1tb-digital-multimedia-receiver-wdbaca0010bbk-uesn
Not a huge fan of the styling but it has the specs I was looking for: HD AMOLED, quad core, large battery, sd slot. Looks like I'm leaving the HTC fold finally.
I have a Synology DS211 NAS running in "hybrid RAID" 2 x 2TB WD drives. It's got Sickbeard and SABnzbd installed (can take a bit of time to get that set up). It's scheduled to turn on at 3:30pm weekdays and turns itself off at 3am. It picks up all my scheduled TV shows that aired in the States...
There's a good tip on the cv joint guide on here if you're doing it in situ. Clamp the driveshaft with mole grips and lodge them in the hole in the middle of the wishbone to stop it moving when you knock the joint off the end.
I agree with the HTC praise, always found them very easy to get on with in all areas including upgrades. The only problem I've had update wise is they don't have a timescale for an update to ICS on the Desire HD so I've ended up rooting mine after 17 months of ownership. Am running Ice Cold...
+1 Done mine myself, just need a soldering iron and some patience and it's a few pound to fix, just follow the guide. No way labour should be that much especially when they are just swapping the part out.
Do it yourself, buy the mosfet and follow the guide on here, you just need a fine tip soldering iron (with decent wattage) and a bit of patience. See this thread for instructions...
When I stuck a GT Turbo engine in my valver I got the same letter back and just got a local garage to write up a report which detailed the engine numbers on headed paper, if anything that should have been more difficult to get through because of the capacity change from 1.8 -> 1.4 meaning...
Well I popped the offside shaft off and opened up the inner CV joint. All the grease was grey/silver with swarf everywhere, here are the findings:
Gouges and scoring
And the actual cause.
I noticed a bit of a wobble throught the steering recently but haven't been above 40 for a while so didn't think much of it. I thought the lower gearbox mount was the culprit (have already changed the upper mount, dogbone and upper gearbox mount about 3 months ago). Anyway went on the motorway...
I've just bought a 2TB NAS (Zyxel NSA310) which is currently connected by wifi to my Panansonic smart TV using DLNA via the media server on the NAS. Now I'm in two minds what to do now :S. I was planning on upgrading my router, currently an o2 wireless box 4, to a dual N of some kind. That way...
I can't seem to find any posts about changing the lower gearbox mount but mine seems like it needs replacing. It looks like you need a lot of clearance to get it out though as the threads are quite long on the top and bottom. Is it a case of unbolting all the other mounts and jacking the engine...
I bought my 172 with a decat already fitted, and the wiring in place for the pre cat lambda. I assumed the post cat wiring was tied out of the way somewhere but it has been cut near the exhaust manifold and I want to replace it but don't know which colours do what, am I right in thinking it's 2...
