Yeah I've heard that VAG paint is particularly hard to work with!
Do you reckon a "harder" pad is required?
I have never used a proper machine polisher before so I'm only going to do a little at a time. Probably experiment on the bonnet first to make sure I get it right

I've done the opposite to you, I've gone from a 182 to a mk4 R32!
Although I definitely think the Clio is fun to drive mainly due to it being smaller I think the R32 doesn't everything else much better!
