    Buy a cheap gearbox to use for spares, that part thats been damaged slides out once you have removed the circlip. The sun wheel i think its called?

    172 cup box has the circlip, it wont last long if you give it some abuse, well mine didnt anyway. You can replace it with a plate that bolts on.

    Got a knocking noise which feels like its coming from somewhere in the transmission. Happens at low speeds when on and throttle, pulling away from stationay and also if you touch the brakes. Feels like their is play somewhere in the drive - diff, shafts? Had it up on the ramp this morning and...

    I got the same thing, also happens when pulling away from stationary sometimes. like a dull thud.

    I emailed mfactory a while ago and they confirmed the final drive they offer will fit the standard diff.
