You can be sure they will give you a list of things that they find "wrong" when it goes in. Mine was done a couple of years ago at the main dealers in Chester. Got it back with the lacquer decimated on the front bumper after they decided to wash it with a super high pressure jet wash. They said...
I went for the Platinum Bosch one when my battery died. It doesn't get used regularly so needs a decent battery that will stand being left for days at a time all year round. It has extra warranty as well so it's worth the extra price
I've had my Ph1 four and a half years and still really enjoy driving it. It still looks nice and everything works properly. Just had the Aircon serviced. Getting the wheels reconditioned in a couple of weeks.
Even after 20 trackdays and 132,000 miles its still reliable and goes like a bat out...
I'm on BT hub same as yours. It will improve the more its used. When they are new the signal strength isn't very good when watching videos etc but after a few weeks it improves.
My taxi regularly gets caked in salt. I usually go to one of the buy time jet washes and use the hot pressure shampoo to shift the really solid stuff then if its still really dirty I use the foam brush then pressure rinse or go to hand car wash during the day. I also have a pressure washer at...
Take it for a good run and get it all up to temperature. My wife's Astra does the same thing after lots of short runs in cold weather. Don't bother using flushing oil but use a decent quality oil when you change it. If you can get the breather pipes off, give them a clean out and once it's had a...
R1-R's are really good. They do wear quickly on the front wheels though. I went through a pair inside a year but the rear ones are still on the car after 18 months and have plenty of life left. I've now got a pair of Federal 595-R's on the front which I had fitted last August. They have done 4...
It's the pull release on the bonnet itself that causes the problem. Some of them tended to go rusty and jam. I always give mine a squirt with silicone spray just to keep it from seizing. If the car was maintained properly then it wouldn't be an issue but some people never bother to check the...
There's loads of pics on my facebook page. I got talking to Will Holman at Autosport about the car and he said why don't you send some photos and a write up and we will feature it. So that's what I did. got an email yesterday to say it had gone to print. First time I've ever had a car in a magazine.
Does anyone know who owns the Blue 182 opposite Fleetwood Ferry dock where the rally stage was? Got talking to him on Friday but forgot to ask if he was a member.
I got talking to a guy that owned a pale blue 182 at Fleetwood on Friday. Forgot to ask if he was Cliosport member. I was helping build a rally stage for Northwest Stages across from the garage where he worked. He came over to ask if he could take his Clio round the stage after we built it. Said...
I've squeezed 50 litres in mine. The Trafic has a 90 litre tank but I've managed 95 litres into it several times. Once the pump clicks off I can get another 10 litres in on the Trafic. It takes a while but that's on diesel and that always froths up when its going in.
I had my 172 remapped last May by Paul at RS Tuning. He altered the fuel map to make it more linear and smooth and it has improved the MPG on a long run and made it much more responsive.
For normal day to day town driving it will make little difference what grade but get on a B road giving it some hard acceleration and the difference is definitely noticeable. I regularly go up to Northumberland over the Hartside Pass in the 172 and drive the car pretty hard over the A686. If I...
Years ago all the French cars had yellow headlight bulbs but you don't see them any more. You used to be able to buy bottles of yellow headlight paint from halfords as well but that's not something I've seen recently either thinking about it. Yellow does seem to penetrate fog better though.
I really like Liquid Yellow but my wife hates the colour. I would stick with it personally as there aren't that many Clios around in that colour. If its a decent car then why swap. Any car is hard to keep clean in this weather.
I've had one tyre burst after hitting a chunk of metal. But I was passenger in my dads car back in the 70's when a Vauxhall Viva had a blowout on the M6 near Keele and his car shot across the motorway in front of us into the barrier and our car hit the the Viva and the barrier. That was very...
Higher octane fuel definitely makes the engine run better. I always use V Power or equivalent. The odd time I've used 95 RON fuel the car feels less responsive. I've used it in other standard cars as well and they all run better on 98 to 99 Ron fuel.
I can't figure out why that light would show on a petrol engine though as it shouldn't be in use.
The big block connector on the back of the ecu may have a break in one of the wires going into it from the loom though which could cause a short circuit. I had that on my 172 about 3 years ago. It...
