I sometimes find its been damp in the left corner of the boot and under the rear seat. But it's not all the time. Even with the wet weather we had this summer it's stayed dry. No idea how it's getting in.
Was passed lastnight by a flying 04 Clio on my way from Churton towards Aldford. God knows what speed it was travelling at but it disappeared pretty quickly. I was in the taxi. Anyone from here own it?
That would be a good buy for someone to tidy up. Mine was pretty scruffy when I bought it but it's been brilliant. Get it to a specialist on a trailer or flat bed and change the belts then get new tyres and brakes and it should give plenty of years of fun.
Ditto. Renault do proper uprated ones for the RS cars. And don't just fit one side. You may find the bottom bolts are very tight when you come to change them. Use plenty of penetrating oil and if it goes really tight then work the thread backwards and forwards a bit at a time and don't force it...
I've had porous alloys before on a Citroen my wife had. Every time I had new tyres fitted I had to get the inner edges cleaned so that the tyre would seal properly. If your rims are old then they probably need refurbishing.
Jack the car up on which ever wheel you want to check and make sure it's turning free when you turn it. You should feel if it's binding at all and if you are driving it and it's getting hot without braking then that will indicate there's a problem. It's possible that the the slots that pads sit...
Very much sounds like pads are sticking in the caliper causing overheating. I have the same set up on my car and never have any issues. You probably need to get the calipers checked and make sure the pads are able to retract when you take your foot off the brake
Where did you get it fitted? Demon Tweeks are suppliers for Scorpion and fit as well. If you are anywhere near them it's worth getting over to them and have them sort it.
Have you closed all your apps? That can kill the battery. Press the home button twice and all the apps that are open will appear at the bottom of the screen. Hold your finger on one of them until they start wobbling and press the red x in the corner of each one until they all disappear.
Also is...
WTF?? You can park anywhere as long as its not causing an obstruction and the car is fully road legal. If there's no parking restrictions in the street it's parked in then I can't see there being any reason why it should have to be moved. If it was mine I'd take it for a drive now and then to...
Also the cup will have a basic bench rear seat and no rear head rests to save weight. The non cup ph1 has half leather upholstery and basic Aircon. Look for service history and belt changes. Also check the disc brakes are in good condition on the back as they are a full rear hub change if it...
What about a day during the week? I'm always busy at the weekends working etc but got plenty of free time weekdays. I'm just down the A41 from Roots n Shoots.
My Clio has done that a couple of times and I still haven't worked out how it's getting water in. But lately it's been dry despite all the rain we have had.
I've had my 172 for almost four years now and it's still a great car. I've no intention of selling it. It's reasonably cheap to run and the insurance is cheaper than my Astra 1.6 Club. I've put 40,000 miles on the car which takes it to 126,000 miles now and the car is still tidy and goes like stink.
I bought a leather steering wheel cover for mine from Halfords and it hides the scabby leather rim. The clutch is quite heavy on the Ph1. But if it's got broken door handles etc it's best looking for a better car. As everyone else says belt servicing is critical. If you can get someone to go...
The only time I've seen any decent amount of Renaultsport cars in France was last year when they did a factory trip to Dieppe. Most cars in France are diesels.
I've just put two Federal RS-R's on the front of mine to replace the R1-R's I had. They seem really good so far. There's a shortage of Toyo R1-R's at the moment. Demon Tweeks had 80 on back order last time I was there.
Looking like I'm not going now. :-(. Still at work until god knows when so not going to be in any fit state by 9.30. Hope you all have a good days driving.
Might be bringing my mrs now. She was supposed to be going to our daughters for the weekend but that's been cancelled so the only way I'm going to get out is to bring her with me
Are the rear brakes drum or disc? I usually take mine up the road to dry them off after I wash the car otherwise the pads tend to stick if left for any time if they are damp. It could be the handbrake cable is sticking.
I have K Tec engine mountings and Powerflex dogbone bush. When the K Tec ones were first fitted there was a bit of vibration until the mountings bedded in but now they are fine.
